@On the Levels I've never heard of beetroot wine. That sounds interesting. I've made faux grape jelly with beetroot but not anything fun like that. Is it hard to make? How would you describe the taste please?

My cctv is easy to download to a Usb storage unit too. I also have various areas of camera views masked. You can set it to record only activity on your property.

@CanadianLori making the wine was easy. We had pulled some beetroot many weeks ago but one was so large I had no space in bottles/freezer/eating. So decided to try for a wine. Peeled and sliced the beetroot and into a bucket added boiling hot water (about 3.5 litres). Covered with a cloth and left for 3 days, stirring every now and then.
Strained of the beet added 2 and a half kilos of sugar. Stirred until all dissolved. Put some wine yeast in the demijohn and then added the juice, put in the fermentation lock and left it to ferment. This didn't take as long as others that I have done so while today was supposed to be a decant I ended up bottling because it was ready.
As to the taste? It doesn't taste like beetroot in our opinion. The colour is a good red not very dark but certainly 100x darker than a Rosie.

Regarding beetroot wine I made some ages ago and it was a lovely red colour when made, some months later it had gone brown still tasted alright, you just had to close your eyes when drinking.

Then bottled the beetroot wine. First time I have done this and what a fabulous colour and taste. Hopefully we will keep it for the festive season!
You need to keep it in dark glass bottles.
