        Did some more rejigging pots.

Sowed new cucumbers indoors since the great cucumber death of May 2021.

Decided to remove a cherry tomato and put it in a smaller pot as I'm not really banking on it being anything special (and I've got 18 more tomato plants anyway), and replaced the pot with an obelisk and some nasturiums. I went on a crazed nasturium sow a few weeks ago and shoved them in various pots. Many have sprouted but I decided I'd rather have them all in one pot so I now have 6 that I found sharing a large pot and ready to climb.

Pruned determinate cherry tomato rescue a little more. It's hard to tell what is too far gone and what is going to perk up, so I'm just trimming off the branches once they go crunchy (it was a Homebase rescue mission and very cheap, but contained 3 neglected determinate plants). It is flowering, and the central stem of two plants looks to be growing in healthy and green. I doubt I'll get much from it but no point leaving dead branches on it.

Also rummaged in the shed and found some log edging we forgot to return and decided to edge my impromptu bed with it. Had to dig up a hedge and I've been trying to make it look nicer by planting millions of dward/bush sunflowers and marigolds. It looks a bit silly because I didn't dig the log very deep in, nor did I backfill behind it because I don't have any topsoil. I'm hoping the marigold foliage will cover and fill in the whole bed and the dwarf sunflowers will grow the height above the marigolds and it won't be noticeable that it's essentially the Great Wall of China in log-edge form. (Moving this Autumn hopefully so don't like doing anything landscapey with too much effort!)

I Chelsea-Chopped a clump of Phlox paniculata, because something was attacking the growing tips, which are now in the recycling bin to be collected next Friday, and I hope it will grow again ...

I was going to do more gardening but my spark went out

Very productive day in the garden , went out there at 9:30 this morning and finally came in 20 minutes ago...feeling very pleased with what I've achieved but wacked out!!

Thankfully we had visitors this afternoon for a couple of hours.....so I was made to stop for a while, but I worked into the early evening to make up for it.:dbgrtmb:

Weeded and sorted out some more borders , I'm proud of myself because I've been pretty ruthless and dug up plants that had become thugs and were dominating various areas.

Planted out loads of plants, not often I can say that I like the sight of a stack of muddy pots waiting to be washed!!

Planted out a couple of wall planters and hung up 5 baskets of Strawberries. Still have some more Strawberries to plant out.

Back is a tad achy , I so wish I could kneel for longer but my dodgy leg complains after just 5 minutes!! Everything seems to take me longer to do but I'm getting there .

Sounds like a fab day @Upsydaisy :dbgrtmb:

Pretty much the same here. I was out at 9am planting out 40 plugs of Midnight candy "night flox" into the border along with lots of Nicotiania alata. Put some in pots too hoping to enjoy the fragrance on the back patio :wub2: Put some Lobelia bedding plants in pots and fed everything including the lawn (after pulling out some mighty weeds) sat and had a coffee listening to the bees enjoying the Alliums and cytisus goldfinch for a little break before getting back into it. A lovely day............now I'm cream crackered :heehee:

Thank you - Loki sends his thanks too :)

I just had a pleasant surprise - my giant tree lily thing I'd about given up on has sprouted! It's growing wonky so it didn't come up where I was expecting it lol. Its in a big 60 litre (I think) pot, does anyone think it'd be worth trying to straighten it up or should I leave it alone?

Kill some more lily beetles. Finish weeding onion patch, put canes in for runner beans, start some more runner bean seed, sow green manure seed on patch cleared and dug over yesterday. Then weed, trim off dead bits of shrubs, prune a few things that are getting out of hand.

As long as i can get to sleep I'm ok with hubby snoring so don't worry Upsydaisy, i sleep through thunderstorms.

Sorted out some of the plants in the small greenhouse so that I can keep the wallflower seedlings in and just cover them with shading. I'm getting fed up having to move them into the garage all the time and they don't get enough light.
Had to water the blueberries that are close to the house, the rain doesn't get to them there.
