Sometimes you're better off without sun at this time of year as clear cloudless nights make it colder.
Today there's no warmth in the sun at all.

First time out for a few days as been in interviews and fixing up some furniture. Managed to turn the compost and plant out a few things we brought to the house but stuck in a quiet nursery corner. Just been thinking about all the things that I need to do and some might get pushed back a year!

Been jetwashing the new patio around the greenhouse and tried to jet wash off the loose paint from the anderson shelter panels-didnt work as well as Id hoped but I didnt have it on the highest setting.

Tomorrow we're hoping to move one of the euonymus trees-it will be a hell of a task.

weve also decided on another project for the garden  We're going to change the damp grassy area near the pond to a stoned firepit area. This should improve the drainage in the part of the garden and will be nice with a couple of benches around it.

Well, I've got nearly 150 or so Hardy Perennials in pots waiting to be planted in the various borders but I've put that job on hold as the soil is too cold at the moment but, on the upside, it gives me more time to plan what will go where.
I haven't potted the Acer "Ukigumo" into the large blue glazed pot as I still haven't decided where it's permanent place will be, it could be on the Patio or actually within the garden itself......decisions, decisions, decisions.:doh::dunno::heehee:

The trouble is, Upsdaisy, that whenever I go out into the garden with a firm, final decision of what Hardy Perennials go where.......I change my mind:doh::wallbanging::dunno::heehee:

I've lost out on my Rose I wanted :cry3:been waiting for the new David Austin releases before I buy ,Nye Bevan was released on Tuesday its nice but not for me, the rose I did want Gabriel Oak sold out on Monday or Sunday :frown: :gaah:, hope I don't have to wait another year for it.

Today was a digging up day. Lots of Arums and bluebells dumped in the green waste bin together with a load of ivy. A few hundred Allium siculum (Nectaroscordum) dug out and put on the grass verge the other side of the road. We'll gradually get a few hundred yards of them. I'm aiming at digging out about a thousand more tomorrow - if I feel like it. :phew: Then I'll start working on the thousands of violets that have self-seeded everywhere. They look good but smother the other plants. I hope to finish them by next month. :rolleyespink:

What goes in the Grey Bin, Logan:scratch:. We only have a Grey Bin for non recyclable items and a Green Bin for green waste, plus a red box for plastics, metal, and a grey box for glass.
I'm just having a potter in the Green House, still sorting out what pots of Hardy Perennials go where, and a gentle amble and then sit around the garden to see what is happening even in this cold weather.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

The Sun:hate-shocked: came out in the early afternoon today and that got me out of the Green House to do a few jobs such a tidying up the Clematis on the Trellis Entrance, moving a Bird Feeder to a new position on the Lilac "Madame Lemoine", and moving some of the large pots around on the Patio.
I've still not potted up the Acer "Ukigumo"

into the large blue glazed pot, but I decided to come to a decision and came to the conclusion that it should stay on the Patio next to the Prunus "Kojo-No-Mai".
So I moved the large blue pot to it's final position on the Patio:yes::hapydancsmil:........and then changed my mind again:doh: But now it is in it's, definitely, final position on the Patio, which is against the West Fence where it's just a blank, uninteresting space of Fence with only a Hamamelis "Orange Beauty"
                                upload_2021-3-6_17-3-56.png
in a large pot to add interest.
I've also started to deweed the 93 pots of Bearded Iris ready for when they break into growth, while also finding a pot of Sedum that will need to be planted near to the Green House. So, all in all, not a bad day weatherwise and getting some jobs done.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:
