Found a load of 'No Name' bulbs...well I don't know their names. Some could possibly be Glads but I haven't a clue what the smaller ones are . They had been left in an open container in the greenhouse all winter , one was sprouting but not too sure if the others are viable or not...I planted them all so it's now a waiting game.

We seem to have a bit of a Waiting Game theme going on this year in our garden. Will they or won't they.....the bulbs have now joined forces with all our Dahlias.

As restrictions have been lifted all the seedlings had their first dip in the outside watering trays today. It might be my imagination but they all looked a lot healthier for it too. :hapflowers2:

Sowed more seeds today and pricked some seedling out. Turned the compost bin into the other empty bin. quick walk round the garden and tied in the odd plant and cut back a cornus . I've been building a little brick ring bed for next door , I'll be planting a Acer garnet in it later this week .

I dug a few dozen primroses out of one of the lawns and settled them temporarily in seed trays with compost. We have orders for some of them . I still can't mow that lawn as there are a lot more to come out first.

Before I could mow one of the other lawns Mrs Shiney needed to pick Chelidonium flowers from it for pressing. Although they are bright yellow they turn white when pressed. :) I also marked where I could see some bee orchids so that I could mow round them.

Then I started mowing. Two hours later I was almost on my knees from manoeuvring the heavy mower so decided to stop - with good intentions of carrying on later. :pathd:

Fortunately, when I was emptying the clippings on the compost heap my new neighbour was mowing that end of his garden. We spent the next hour and a half chatting and had a lot in common - apart from mowing and chatting :heehee: He had worked with a lot of my ex-employees after I retired :rolleyespink:. By then it was too late to carry on mowing

I want to finish a lot more of the mowing and then trim the edges as we have visitors at the weekend.

I also received some orders for chilli plants from one of the local Indian restaurants as they want to use them in the summer to decorate their outside seating area in the summer. They think it would look more ethnic to have chilli plants. :)

Did some more weeding and dug up a gooseberry plant and a black berry that had thorns on it so didn't want it.

Painting fences panels.... and I have a lot of them. Thank goodness I had the foresight to get a sprayer as this would have been nigh on impossible otherwise. I have done all the panels first coat as of now and I am absolutely knackered. Doing it by hand would have taken me until the end of the week just to get the first coat done.

I was a tad ambitious with the 20 litres of paint/stain that I had from B&Q, so that has now become the first coat only and I will flip to the Wickes paint tomorrow - had to buy 45 litres of that last night. Reckon I have another two coats to go

While they were either in full shade or semi shade I swept and cleared away the clumps of moss dumped by the birds on both the east and kitchen patio this morning. I then did a final tidy up and cutting back on their borders ...all ready now for planting some summer bedding later on.
Can't wait to get all our pots with the Giant Lillies , Salvias , Geraniums and various other colourful plants back out onto the patios.. IMG_20210330_134012.jpg IMG_20210330_134208.jpg

Just enjoyed a BBQ ,will now go and some pricking out and potting up this afternoon.

Finished off (mostly) the shed base by filling the middle bit with bricks and screeding the remainder. Knackered again now but the weather is brilliant:)

Also picked up a fatsia japonica from Tesco for a fiver. Got eight plants out of the pot so happy with that!

Swept the flat roof clear of pine needles and other winter debris. Got the mower out of the shed, checked it over and it started second pull. Then cut the grass at the back; first time in 20+ years I've cut the grass before the start of April normally a lot closer to May.

I tidied my shed. I can actually get in there now, even if I have to squeeze between the junk ... but it's tidy junk :dbgrtmb:

Enjoyed a coffee sat outside first thing with the pooch. :doggieshmooze: Potted up some Dahlia tubers and fed the pots and borders. Then on to the big job of the day. Covering up a grubby wall in the back garden. Had to stop half way through to pop to B&Q for some more wood. I'm no joiner and had to saw by hand but got it done in the end. Anything was better than looking at what was there before. Just have to stain now. 20210330_155507.jpg

Cut up my old hammock frame to take to the tip, so I can clean up a section of ground for some more spuds.
