I’ve not done much in the garden today, just deadheading some daffodils, a quick poop-scoop around the pond (the problem of attracting wildlife, is they’re just not house-trained:heehee:!). I sat up at the pond to have a cuppa in the afternoon sun, and then potted on the pitcher-plant. Hopefully I haven’t damaged the roots this time...:fingers crossed:

Same here ,deadheaded the daffs this morning and moved all my sprouting Giant Lillies out of the greenhouse for a breathe of fresh air.

Went to the GC this afternoon for some more compost.
Had a good look around and much to my surprise could see anything to tempt me at all !!

Fixed up a water butt to the shed using bits torn off the old greenhouse; sowed some more grass seed and crossed fingers for some hotter weather!

Emptied some large terracotta pots and cleaned them out ready for their next use. :phew: Planted out a Geranium cranesbill into the border and got the Magnolia stellata into a large pot where it will stay now until I find its forever place in the ground.
Potted up some Calofornian Poppy seedlings. Popped to the allotment for more compost and ended up with some red cabbage and cauliflower seedlings :heehee:

Well, I really worked up a storm today. I cleaned and organized the greenhouse, ran new feed lines to the autopots, mixed a wheelbarrow full of media, and planted the tomatoes in the autopots. Now, I am exhausted and need a few aspirins and a cold drink. :coffee:

              Thought I had finished sowing...can't resist !!

Plan on sowing a selection of Nasturtiums and Stocks, might do a couple more trays of Salvias ... oh yes and double Zinnias too.

Note to self...stop looking through your seed collection during coffee breaks!!:nonofinger:

I'm not sure what I'll do in the garden today. I'll wander around and see what I feel like doing as the ground is too hard to dig. I'll check the areas already watered but the areas done so far are fairly solid with plants so not too many weeds. The fiddly bending down jobs I'll leave for someone else :heehee:

There's no more big cutting back jobs able to be done as there are too many bird nests around. I have spotted five blackbird nests and four robin nests so far. They are fairly easy to spot as they tend to come out and look at me if I come close. Four of the nests are within a few feet of my office window so I tend to get distracted a lot. :)

I need to change some hose fittings, bought them yesterday, and shall start weaving the new overhead frames for the beans. I bought another 200m of twine yesterday to do that job. :blue thumb:

Mrs Shiney does all the seed sowing and potting on and I keep out of the greenhouse at this time of year. So I haven't the faintest what plants are being brought on. I do know we must have quite a lot of seedlings as she said we have a lot of people waiting for them.

We have new neighbours and they were round the other day to look at the garden. Theirs is the same size but mainly grass and trees and they would like some flower beds with shrubs and summer colour. We shall provide them with all their mature plants and seedlings and give them advice on how to look after them.

All seedlings are now either in the greenhouse for the day or outside in the lovely sunshine ( not directly). Deadheaded more Daffs, Bellis and a couple of Wallflowers .

Teabreak time ( no peeping at my seed box stash) then out to sow the seeds mentioned earlier.

Gorgeous morning here, hope it's the same for all of you too.

Not a day for gardening here so will relax and mentally plan things. I plan to stop at the Garden Center one day soon as I fancy something new and different and probably exotic.

I sowed Raddishes ( a few different varieties), purple top turnips, Little Gem lettuces, into my raised bed,
also sowed Sweet Peas in plugs (a bit late but they'll catch up) and some other annuals,
                        and herbs, Basil, Thyme, Dill,
Put them all in the propagators.
Still a few packs of things to sow soon ...

I watered all my Fuchsias in the cold frames and some of the succulents. I was going to water my cacti but forgot and now my back is too bad to do it lol [IMG] so tomorrow will have to do [IMG]

I am so fed up with this cold weather and zero rain!
Grass seed has been down for weeks now and nothing to show for it apart from clumps of ungerminated seed after the wind and frost (and snow!) have played their games.
                          Just did odd jobs today

Another really sunny day here so made the most of it. Planted out 2 Lavatera "Barnsley baby " from pots into the border. Some of the many sweet peas are now in a large pot with canes.
Had to go to the local GC for some new lawn edging shears. My old ones have finally given up on me and gosh I hadn't realised how blunt they were until I got the new ones. The edges are looking crisp now
Spotted a shoot coming out of a hosta I adopted in a pot I bought last year. Never grown one before so I'll see how that goes in the shady corner.

Grass seed usually needs a minimum temperature of 12C/54F to germinate @Loofah, which is probably why yours is reluctant to get underway. It may also have been damaged by frost if it's exposed. A case of wait and see I think.

Extremely cold this morning but when the sun came out it was very warm. Got lots of weeding done and dug up a few dozen Lychnis and potted them up. Sowed about 200 bean seeds after giving them an overnight soak. Will do another 200 next week. :phew:

I have been busy with non-gardening things all afternoon and about to do another hour outside before being busy until late tonight.
