Didn't finish the border that i was working on, had to pick fruit instead and it's too hot now to do it. Also thinking of what I'm going to grow next year, I'd like to dig up some more of the lawn but i think hubby wouldn't let me.

Had a go at tidying up the outside of the hedge where there were fine roots growing over the coping edge. Jordan said he would do it next week but at £25/hour we thought we would have a go. We did about half using lawn edging shears and that was us done for. We will leave it for him and his industrial strimmer.
We intend to plant Rosa rugosa "Alba" in the hedge, to give it a bit more "bite". Just eight plants throughout its length. I dug the first hole cutting out a myriad of roots.
Got my new sprinkler out and gave most of the garden a good soaking.

Other than watering I've not done anything else in the balcony today.

I have difficulty doing much in the garden these days, the stuff from an old demolished shed is strewn everywhere and the building of a small kitchen extension has made me move things from the patio so they are also strewn about the garden. It's in an awful mess and all I can do is water the tubs.

Try not to worry Michael, you're bound to be in a bit of a mess. As long as you can reach the tubs to water then all will be fine.
Fast forward your thinking to when everything is completed......it'll all be looking fabulous. :) :dbgrtmb: x

Vicky can vouch for that....her latest pics are beautiful..:imphrt:

Weeding here and there, deadheading here and there ,squeezing in the last few remaining plants here and there and despite a very fine drizzle ( where's some proper rain?)

Keeping an eye on my darling and silently having a nervous breakdown!!

I’m not good on ladders either, I put a roof sheet on the lawn the other day and finished it off with a foreword roll

Have no fear Michael ( there's enough here).

Nothing is going to budge it's more secure than it looks, everything is bolted down ,including the planks. The proper scaffolding ones are now part of the shelving in my big cold frame.

Here's fearless, just hope our boys have inherited a lower dose!!
