That's lovely, I recently bought an Eryngium yuccifolium and might get one of those to add to the same border to complement it as it's also evergreen from what I've read. How tall are the longest of those leaves please, Nigel? Hard to get a sense of scale, about 2ft tall?

The flower spike is about 4 - 5ft tall and the leaves are 2 - 2.5ft long. Also it is well named and the spikes are very sharp.

Thank you @NigelJ, I adore the genus but find so many seem to be listed as frustratingly brief flowerers! I'm hoping E. 'Big Blue' is true to the GW website entry and flowers for at least 3 months. I quite like the thought of growing some of the evergreen ones, will add a touch of exoticism to my border. :)

Melaleuca squamea, two years old from seed bought in Sydney Botanical gardens, tiny and not not much yet but I didn't expect any flowers for a few years if any at all.

Thank you @Jenny namaste. Yes, I think Armandii would be really happy with it, despite the conditions this far north that it has to contend with. :)

@Nikolaos I grew mine from seed from Special Plants. Had good germination and an over abundance of plants.
