@Lolimac - I've been doing a lot of thinking too and along the same lines. Don't have a GH but for the first time trying to fake it in my shed which has a fair sized south facing window, so not heated but sheltered at least.
How are your Erysimum cuttings doing? What should they be like at this time of year? Mine have a little bit of die-back but I think some signs of new growth. Must get on with geranium cuttings tomorrow too.
      Cheers GG

p.s. did you for a while change your nick to Loli, or have I had a memory short circuit?

Loli yours look much better than mine, you obviously have greener fingers. I'll be glad if mine survive the next couple of months, one of the stalwarts for winter interest I think.

Too wet to do anything much outside, apart from a little bit of tidying up in the front garden. So, sowed some seeds instead. Agastache Fragrant Delight Mixed , Clematis Macropetala and Eccremocarpus Tresco Mixed.

Didn't do much except for having a look to see if any more of my bulbs have made an appearance. Still no sign of the winter aconites....I've got the feeling that I might have planted them upside down! :oopss:  :snork:

Nothing done in garden, :dunno: so sowed my broad beans in pots. Sowed my tomato seeds, sowed Borage, Comfrey, Coriander and put my parsley seeds to soak. Pricked out some other tomato seeds sown last week. So many seeds to sow....... such little time, no I can always make time, I just love sowing the little packages of life.

Can't remember your soil type - it favours Acid soil, and at least no more alkaline than "Neutral".

They shouldn't mind partial shade ... but moisture is important, particularly when young, and lack of that in Summer might be preventing flower formation?

I think Ant killer will work for a wasps nest? (put in the entrance so that they carry it into the nest as they come & go)

Slightly acidic and in a border getting sun but under a canopy of a tree so that might be the issue. I'm pollarding the tree in summer (ornamental cherry) so more light but it may be the roots sucking away moisture

Mostly be dead too but those that aren't will wake up damned quick if you go poking about. Be careful

                              Thanks.

If I had my way I would actually leave it (i don't agree with destroying any creatures however small) but my neighbors have small children and they already have attacked some builders from next door last year just before the cold weather arrived.

They give me the creeps those nests. If you do manage to kill them off, try to leave the nest in place as it deters future queens nesting there
