Been in the greenhouse too, dug out as much bindweed as I could find, raked it over, put the shelving back in, sowed plugs of parsnips, tray of mizuna, and a gutter full of early peas stuck up in the rafters away from the mouses.

Just been down the garden centre and got international kidney & pink fir apple so I can photoshop chit them :)

We replaced the five wooden fence post, broken by the gales, with concrete posts. That section of fence was originally put in by me but the adjoining fence, with concrete posts, is the neighbour's.

Michael was doing all the hard work (very hard work getting out the posts and the concrete they were set in) and had to do it from the neighbour's side (his driveway) as there's not enough access from my side. I'd checked with the neighbour first and he'd said OK.

Just when Michael had nearly finished, the old dragon from next door told Michael to clear everything off her driveway. So he had to dump a few of the fenceposts with concrete on my side and will now have to barrow them all round the house to get to his car. Whereas the other ones were loaded straight into his car.

The fence isn't quite finished because the concrete posts are nearly an inch thinner than the wooden posts. so we now have a four inch gap between my last panel and the start of the neighbour's fence, and his post. I've told Michael not to bother at the moment and I've wired the end of the fence panel to the neighbours post.

If they don't like the four inch gap they'll just have to wait until I'm ready to fix it. :heehee: It stands out like a sore thumb from their side  whereas we never go round that end of our building :roflol:. I'll fix a four inch baton sometime! :snork:

Made a scare-chevreuil:) He's like a scare-crow but with reflective gilet and gun wrapped in clingfilm:hate-shocked:
I've called him Henri and just hope the mice don't move in to his ticklish bits too soon!

Pottered about for a couple of hours on a bright, chilly afternoon.

In the greenhouse, potted up some Salvias and Rudbeckias which I got for nowt, (several borders at work are currently being cleared and replanted, so I've 'rescued' a few plants which would otherwise have been thrown away).

Outside, planted out some 'rescued' Hellebores and relocated several self sown foxgloves to other parts of the garden.

Went out in the garden to fill up the bird feeders. I usually move the feeders each time so that the lawn underneath doesn't get in too much of a mess. Couldn't do it today because the feeder was frozen to the lawn!!!

Forecast for tonight is even colder than yesterday.

Don't forget the big birdwatch this weekend.
