Done a bit of work on the the lawn this evening, I've ran out of turf though need another roll. Worm cast are making a right mess, doesn't help with me walking on it either.
I've dug up some of the lawn as well, need more space ;). I can move the ligularia little rocket so it can have more space, got some primula candelabra I split earlier in pots ready, they already out grown the pots looking very happy and vigorous.

We're into the cutting down and cutting back stage of the year. We've cut, right back, the very big Cistus that seems to have died. We were going to dig it out but the 2"-3" diameter roots cover about 16sq ft and some of them looked as though they may still have a bit of life in them, although the stems had died back, so we'll give it another season to try and recover. That saved a few hours of digging! :phew:

I've started cutting back the blackberries (vicious little Bs :rolleyespink:) and have just one more bed to cut back and then try and pick up all the debris without too much injury. I'll have to get dressed well for the occasion. :paladin:

I've now removed the French bean ShineyFrame, collected all the seed pods for next year, stacked all the canes and left the debris for Michael to pick up (if he turns up tomorrow :noidea:)
I can get him to clear all the blackberry debris as well :ideaIPB:

@Zigs I've started podding the Bridgwater beans that look dry enough and must have a couple of hundred so far. I'll try and get them to people for them to try (will have a chat to someone from a nearby allotment society). I'll also see whether I can grow some for sale on Open Day - not sure whether people will buy.

My greenhouse is up and running. Eventually it will be turned 90 degrees. In actuality it's probably better off where it is. It will be more wind resistant this way on and it faces the sun. I also want it to block access to the back of the garden though. If I turn it 90 degrees it's a perfect fit with room to grow a nice shrub just at the front right corner. That shrub will then mark the end of my planting area.

@Jack Sparrow Happy germinating days ahead for you now :) - Just a little word of advice-either lay some planks across the floor to make a kinda false floor it will hold the GC down as it will lift very, very easily with no staking or weight to the base with the slightest gust of wind  - you could also use metal tent pegs if you have them but it would need to be on soil to do that of course :)

Have fun with it Gary.:) A gh is such a useful (no, essential) feature here :)
Not much time to garden but I dug up a group of agastache Black Adder.....ok, still in flower but I wanted to divide them and plant out a group of Cloth of Gold wallflowers.
(Not really divide the agastaches as such but pot up runners for next year :))

If you have a spare paving slab then the weight of that would help as well. Put it on the plank and you can put pots on it.

@Jack Sparrow enjoy your greenhouse! Happy Sowing :). I wish I had a greenhouse.

No gardening today. Quite tired, lack of sleep caught up with me and just couldn't be bothered. I did make a small log pile down by the boat seat. Went to the hardware store earlier and bought cleaning products, potting compost, grit and two burgundy Scabious :yahoo:. Love, love Scabious and was thinking I might have to buy online or seeds as not seen them in the GC's up here. Think I might go back and buy two more tomorrow :snorky:.

Made an apple and rhubarb crumble for later on - yum :).

@BeeHappy I was just thinking the same thing myself re a glass of wine or two. Unfortunately there's not a drop in the house, not even a bottle of fruit cider :frown:. I have champagne but hubby doesn't like it and I can't drink whole bottle.

Is Black Cat a Scabious too ?

I haven't done really anything in the garden for the last 8 or 9 days due to having a virus that basically reducing me to a sneezing, coughing and spluttering object making me lose all interest in the World beyond the walls of the House.
However, while still coughing and sneezing I went out into the garden and started tidying up the borders, marked up some jobs that will need doing when I can breathe properly again. I found a long lost seed tray containing some Penstemons and potted them on ready for next year and for giving to friends. There are still plants flowering well out of season such as Clematis, Gladioli, Poppies, Scabious and Phlomis and I had to cut back the mixture of Clematis and Sweetpeas that clothe the Trellis entrance to the garden as the growth had made it almost impossible to get through the entrance. Clematis Armandii is still flowering as it drapes through the Acer Brilliantissimum but will get a shock soon as I will be pruning off the lower limbs of the Acer as they are making it difficult to get to the entrance of the Wild Life pond. I won't though be able to do that pruning until I get total leaf fall on the Acer so I've marked the limbs that need pruning with green string..........where's that Mug of Tea.:coffee::snorky:
