I planted 3 pots full of tulips, snowdrops and daffodils. Then the rest of the daffs I planted all in random parts of my front lawn, cant wait for spring now.

Cleared a border with snapdragons in and planted wallflowers and tulips there.

Ours had plenty of buds and a lot of flowers that had gone over but I don't think they would bloom before the cold sets in so decided to bite the bullet and prune it.

Sanguinea is still flowering and was put away without pruning as its a young plant and not too big.

We have some cuttings from Yellow Zunni Spider. If they root I will happily post you one if you fancy growing one for next year.

I've emptied the Green House of all the Tomato plants after picking a builders bucket full of Toms so that I can get space and reorganise the three large troughs inside that have Cacti, Succulents, and Hardy Perennials in them.
I've also having the concrete patio, the area between the Green House and my Garage, and the Gable End path leading from the front of the House to the rear dug up and replaced with cobble pavers. That means I will have to move lots of pots from large to medium sized terracotta pots from those areas into the Green House and other parts of the garden.
My Clematis Armandii is flowering, which is about 3 months earlier than it should, but over the last two or three years it has been flowering for up to 9 months at a time due to, in my opinion, the change of the Seasons.
I've also started the annual ritual of clearing out the Couch grass in the borders. It usually takes a few weeks to ensure that I have all that I can get out of the borders as leaving, or missing, a tiny piece of root means it will be back. Some of the roots of the Couch grass that I've dug up have measure up to 27 inches:doh:. Luckily, my sandy, soft, soil lets me gently follow the roots as I use a Trowel to ease the roots out. But, no matter how I try to get rid of it the Couch grass is always back the next year. I think that some tiny bits of roots hide in the roots of my closely planted Hardy Perennials so it's a case of :wallbanging::heehee:

I have couch grass and it comes back when I think that I've got it all. Also some very fine grass that is the same.

Spent most of the morning down the beach with Nico.....absolutely stunning day. He should be puffed out chasing the seagulls on the sand but no way! where does his energy come from? :wow:

Jobs today in the garden? Its more about the thinking process so will take a cuppa and a sandwich outside and plan a small revamp of a corner of the garden. It might involve taking out a chunk of lawn to accommodate thalictrum Splendide White and hopefully retain what is already there (japanese painted fern, astilbe shogun, salvia Cambridge, yellow hellebore, spigelia marilandica and sanguisorba Lilac Squirrel) but move them around a little. A pillar of white should look good there....I think :noidea:

Sounds lovely @Verdun:) I've been snipping and chopping shrubs and fruit trees. Lots more lovely, sunny light in the garden now. What a glorious autumn:SUNsmile:

Wet overnight and this morning but brightened up before noon. Quite nice and sunny now so planted, moved and divided a few perennials. All duly mulched and watered in. Plenty of rain to come tonight and tomorrow though courtesy of storm Michael so they will be well settled in. From a fair bit of colour, etc., this smallish area now looks bare and "earthy"......price to pay for dividends next season :noidea:. Could have waited a tad longer I guess but job done and dusted:)

It was wet overnight and this morning so everything is nice and fresh. Phoned my gardener and he is coming on the 27th to get everything ready for winter. He will cut all the shrubs back, except for the Viburnum and Poinsettia as they are coming into bloom and generally tidy everything. I have three long planters in my boundary wall to the lane and he will plant these up with Billbergia nutens as I have masses everywhere which need splitting as they love it outside here, mostly shaded.

You can just see one and a bit of the planters here ...

                                upload_2018-10-11_16-2-22.jpeg

... third is here behind the Almond tree on the other side of the double gates...

Ben will also tidy up this side of the wall on the lane.
