        Well, as you know, Shiney, Jenny loved the sometimes 8' high old compost heap...

        She also loved the Bowers on the South facing garage wall where she'd grab a snooze in the Sun

        and climbing the Clematis Archway

        plus, she had her own cat ladder to get her on top of the old Compost Heap:heehee:

        So when I built the new Compost Bins, after finding to her disbelief that the huge old Compost Heap had disappeared, Jenny walked around them in curiosity and then with a disdaining look that only a Cat can give, she walked off with her tail in the air.:dunno::cat-kittyandsmiley::heehee:

            You weren't the only one, Shiney. She stayed indoors all the week when the patio was being laid and when it was finished and I let her out into the garden for the first time she seemed more interested in that than the new comost bins.:dunno::heehee::cat-kittyandsmiley:

              I was contemplating some gardening today but the constant rain was not an encouragement so I just made a couple of trips into the Green House to check on the plants in there. Tomorrow is looking better for some jobs in the garden.:coffee::snorky:

                We got a reasonable amount of work done in the garden. The first part was in our neighbour's garden where we cut back the honeysuckles, viburnum, jasmines, cobaea etc. that had gone through the slats of the fence. He's happy to have the plants there as it gives him 60-70ft of colour that he doesn't have to plant or look after, but we need to cut them back when they start to grow thick enough to warp the fencing panels. One thing we don't have to worry about is the passion flower as we have let that run upwards and over the fence and he now has at least 50ft of it trained along his fence and trellis.

                In our garden I've started cutting back some of the grasses. That's a tough and long job. I spent two hours at it and haven't made much of an impression yet. :phew:Mrs Shiney cut back some of the leycesteria plants and some of the Veronicastrum.

                    So Christmas TV was a let down as usual so out into the garden. Planted a couple packets of Anemones. Very late , yes but should still come good.

                    Potted up some elephant garlic mono bulbs that were trying to escape their cramped cells. Got some cheap cheap hyacinyths the other day and potted them up , 5 in 5 bulb pots.

                    Salvaged an old growframe that will be used as the structure for my growlights .

                    Back in, got stuffed like the turkey and settled down to moan about there being nothing to watch on tv..again...

                      Had a walk up the garden today but still very wet lawns .
                      Grasses and ferns still looking good and am loathe to cut them down yet .
                      Came back in again and downed half a bottle of Chianti :rolleyespink: ! Nice!!
                      Wife got appt. the other day for 'pre-ops' or tests prior to her impending hip replacement .
                      She desperately needs it doing now as walking is painful ; she's had them both done before at the ripe old age of 44!!
                      i just dread taking her to hospital and then returning to an empty house ; I hate that side of it.
                      You hear of so many people going in for routine operations and never coming back out :yikes: ;just hope everything goes OK !:frown:

                            Forgot to mention the other day that when I was cleaning out our fridge before we departed to the lands of Shiney’s birth I found some garlic that Mr Kandy had bought from the supermarket and after using one clove popped the rest of the clump (can’t think of what you call them:scratch::biggrin:) into the fridge salad draw where they have sat for a few weeks.Anyway,I noticed that the cloves had started to root so had to save them as they would have started growing in the compost bags so I got hold of a small tray popped in some compost and buried the cloves so I expect it won’t be long before they start shooting and need putting out on the lottie plot:biggrin:
