@Perki The one place down the road wanted £29-99 for them each and they was smaller and i got the idea for buying these when @Jack Sparrow brought one and i identified it with the neighbours hedge next door and that's gone through all weathers and still grows well.

I would like to try and shape them similar to my conifer shape as they'll be in the middle of round lavender balls.

Picture of my connifer and where they've got to go replacing bottle brushes. :)

Really not able to say as it depends on variety, how old it is etc. To take out something that size you are likely to need a big rootball with it. The builders should be able to do that for you and you can only give it a go. :noidea:

I got some more lawn edging cut and also another 25ft of new lawn edged. The ground was surprisingly dry. Must have been the long hot sunny days we've been having  :th scifD36: :snorky:

I also did more digging out of dandelions, buttercups, strawberry weed and various other weeds. Feeling quite pleased with myself :pathd: :heehee:

Back from the beach....Sunny and mild.

Shiney, you put me to shame....must be looking good there :)

Still doing work around the house so may not get much time in the garden although I must try to do some weeding. Lots of hyacinths around giving delightful scent. Several wallflowers flowering but they are later this year I think

Phostrogen was finally in stock at the local Wilko yesterday, so I've mixed the first batch of the year today. Turns out 3 litre bottles of Pepsi Max still have their uses when the contents are long gone.

Unwrapped the two palm trees we have in the back garden after the two 'beasts' put that back a couple of weeks. They're looking a little sorry for themselves, but hopefully nothing a bit of sunlight and some Phostrogen can't fix. That goes for a few things around the garden, which had to take the full force of the winter, for the last time before the greenhouse gets here.

The biggest job of the weekend is going to be moving the begonias on to individual pots. Bought a tray containing 40 of them, which I'm beginning to think will barely scratch the surface. First things first, I need to run the newest batch of MPC through the new riddle without getting it all over the place...

I don't do as much as you as I have to be careful but I do about 30 minutes of digging/bending work and then have a good hour of sitting down. Mowing is not a problem as I could do hours of that with no bad effects.

The garden is gradually looking neater. Need to get as much as possible done before everything starts growing like mad!

Cut back any extended stems on both the Viburnum Tinus...because being young you can't afford to shape to quickly....hubby removed bottle brushes and the amount of fresh compost in the dirt was lovely and fresh...removed any rooting left from the bottle brushes and the Viburnum are finally in :phew:...Oh i am one pleased lady

The Bottle brushes was completely dead

Oo! We had one of those conifers.

It's the one in front of the Japanese Lantern

Mind you, that was thirty years ago.

                        10_01_2.jpg

Then we got rid of the rest but as it had a nice shape we moved it and put it on top of the rockery.

                        Look at it now!

Dwarf or not, conifers need regular pruning to maintain size.
I'm fond of conifers but choose the right one....for your site, for size and for shape :)

Wet, wet and wet since early pm but managed to get all outdoor tasks done whilst it was dry, even sunny.

My 2 year old great niece arrived.....who cares if it is raining whilst this gorgeous bundle of blonde haired fun n mischief is around??:)

I've just filled a wheelie bin with weeds and hope to fill another one tomorrow. :blue thumb: Time to rest now :coffee: before cooking dinner and then going out.
