@Snorky85 It would be even lovelier if they made warm snow! That is a male Cardinal. The female usually lurks in a nearby tree whilst he eats and then they switch roles.

Yes, @john558 I really like this feeder. The rails they stand on are sprung and if something too big comes to feed, it slams the feeder shut. The Plexiglas underneath is just to keep the squirrels from trying to raid it. They simply clean off the spilled seed on deck below so it all works out well. :)

Played golf this morning. Put Wet n' Forget on the patio and paths this afternoon. Used a watering can rather than a hose. More control that way.

I did just a little work clearing up after the gales. Lots of branches down and also the bird feeder. fortunately nothing from the feeder was broken this time. It has six metal spoke feet that are each 2.5ft long. So it has a 5ft base but still got blown over

Again, done nothing except check in on the greenhouse. Been inside doing housework and decorating. Now got dinner in the oven whilst I do a bit of photoshop work.

Spent the morning in the greenhouse planting sweet pea seeds in yoghurt pots and toilet roll tubes.

Checked on the pansy seeds in the bag in the cold frame and they havent germinated yet. I hope they haven’t rotted.

I haven't started my pansies yet because all of my hanging pots are out in the greenhouses. I'll pull myself together mid next week and bring them in to thaw. I'll have to shovel to get to them but making the body work usually relieves the brain from thinking and what a lovely stress break!

Just made sure the birds and the squirrel had enough food and access to unfrozen water.
Checked on my little rhodo in the shed. It was actually quite warm in there as it's sunny today and it has two south facing windows.

Checked that neither of the lamps I use for heaters in the bottom of my jukeboxes in the tea-house had blown. Turned the mechanisms over a couple of times and called it a day.

Still snow on the ground but none on the plants, as I've watered them.

Rhodos and our one *camellia are susceptible to frost burn at this time of the year under these conditions. The snow was turning to ice. Tap water is at around 50f, so it cleared it of the rhodos and azaleas after a bit.
It may well freeze again tonight. Wouldn't like any of these to get frost burn, lots of nice big buds on all of them.

                  * Cue for a song.

Very cold here for past few days, with strong winds overnight frosts. Thankfully no snow. Disinclined to venture forth into garden for anything other than keeping birds topped up with food and warm water. Spending my time painting, making more coasters and walking on the beach. But, I'm thinking about my garden :heehee::loll:.

@Snorky85 and @Verdun the hedgehog with the abscess is recovering. He has finished his course of anti biotics and the abscess has almost healed. He is feeling well enough to trash his cage and poo in his food and water bowls:eeew::hate-shocked:.

Took a 2" thick block of ice out of the bird bath. Refilled with fresh water.

I empty my baths out when birds go to roost so I can just refill in morning without the battle to remove frozen water.

Not gardening but because of the weather, litter tray has been refreshed. She usually doesn't use it but, who wants a cold bum?:heehee:
Before I get loads of kitty hate, my garden is the hot spot/ place to be/ for local cats. My cat may use others gardens but we all love and live with cats here.
Before you ask, they love mine because it's tended (fresh soil ), because of my trees, because of my secluded access to wooded areas and because my cat has no morals :mute:
