Sat relaxing at my companions and watching her water away at the bedding plants while I sip away at a nice cuppa. Grass is like a meadow!

Yesterday being a touch warmer than we're used to, I considered gardening but decided against it. Didn't let the dogs out for their lunchtime run until about 4pm as their kennels are shaded and much cooler than the rest of the garden

Polytunnel had four good waterings (topped out at 45 degrees in there :yikes:), I collected a bolivian fuchsia (tried growing these from seed twice now with no success) and watered the garden from late afternoon.

I split up my auriculas after watching an online tutorial. So many plants now. They are fleeting but glorious.

Pulled out some of the sweet peas which had gone over. They have been amazing this year and the plants in the ground outperformed the ones in containers. The stems were longer and the smell better.
After the storms last night the garden is looking a bit battered so I tidied up the cutting patch. The cornflowers looked sad and sorry but the cosmos, alstromeria and dahlias are looking great with lots to come.
The raised bed has lost its level and has sunk so I'll be ordering some top soil for the autumn. I have a few perennials in pots to plant out but I'll leave them now until the autumn.

              Lovely but cooler today. :)

Will mow again later, take salvia and agastache cuttings, check stakes on dahlias and heleniums, and continue to pick produce. The runner beans are forming nicely too so will look and see if any are ready:)

I will feed the lawn again ...if not after being mown today then tomorrow .....and this year I used ordinary growmore in early spring. It has surprised me a little how well the lawn has reacted to it so a second application now:) Cheaper than “proper” granular lawn food too.

Plants bought recently in half litre pots...thalictrums, campanulas, and others .....have filled out in their bigger pots and now need to be potted on again. They will fill 3 litre pots by September. I will plant these out next spring:)

Potted this up, so glad I did as seeing that empty container for the last few weeks has been annoying the crap out of me! Flowers until the end of September apparently, so I'm expecting a few flowers this year.

Just love that tub @Nikolaos Is it Victorian? I have two matching large Victorian ones we brought from the IoW 18 years ago.

Would like to see pics of the shrubby Morning Glory when it blooms. We have the common Ipomoea purpurea growing wild here, some in my garden, but I have seeded some multi-coloured Ipomoea Tricolor, Ipomoea quamoclit and a pink rufffled flower one I can't remember the name of.

Oh dear @ARMANDII, I hope my cats will be OK! I know the plant isn't poisonous to cats but I didn't know the seeds were toxic. Surely they'll instinctively avoid them!

I have always had cats. 90% of what is in your garden is poisonous. Don't fret, cats aren't s silly as dogs! :cat-kittyandsmiley:

Thanks @Victoria! I'm not sure actually, it was my grandmother's. I think it may be more likely to be a reproduction. Your Victorian ones sound lovely, do you have any photos of them?

That one I planted is a Convolvulus, part of the same family but a different genus to Ipomoea, I think. I love the look of Ipomoea purpurea, might have to grow that one! I was initially thinking of planting this Convolvulus but it has a shorter flowering period.

                          RightPlants

Phew, that's a relief about the Convolvulus seeds!

Hey Nikalaos, cats and dogs here and suffer no ill effects from (your) convolvulous. As a matter of context, several neighbours have cadged plants from me and grow it too. Cats and dogs, again, not affected.,
Further, I used to grow catmint near to it here....cats would roll in it etc. All fine.
I really don’t think it’s a threat to any animal

Me too Nikolaos....love the pot :)

Gorgeous day here, nice n warm n sunny. Been taking photos of the garden for a gathering tomorrow. I was asked incidentally. :)

                            Will be watering later

Your suggestion of that Convolvulus was brilliant @Verdun, thanks again! I don't grow much in containers ATM but my garden is quite small so I think they're essential at this point.

Just be glad I'm not one of your neighbours Verdun, I'd be cadging plants from you all the time, you have some lovely ones in your garden, especially the salvias! (drool) :heehee:

Victoria is absolutely right, Nick:love30::thumbsup: I only mentioned it, not meaning to be alarmist, as the seeds were said the be "extremely" posionous. As Victoria say 90% of the plants we have in our gardens are posionous in some form or another. I have a cat,(Jenny) and lost one (Sallly) due to old age last year:cat-kittyandsmiley:, and although you've seen how crowded my garden is with plants they only thing they ate is grass ..
