I got those panels up plus repositioned one of the old ones. Lots of power and the fans were mixing the air in the greenhouses u til about a minute ago... lots of clouds moved in. And I had just finished watering everyone as well:doh: oh well, free water is always good.

I did get the plants moved downstairs with the exception of the Shineybrids. Their spot is ready but I'll wait a few more weeks.

I saw a couple of white butterflies diving into my zucchini so I chased them out and covered the area with bug screening. Hope I wasn't too late. I had tried the bits of white tissue trick but these guys weren't at all fooled!

didn't have time to do much in the garden apart from picking veggies for sale and picking blackberries for eating. The blackberries and I have a love/hate relationship. They're very tasty old fashioned ones but they have the old fashioned masses of thorns all over them with lots of tiny thorns on the underside of the leaves. They were planted in 1953 and still going strong.

Today it is time for the wild area to have its annual cut back and mow. About 3,000 sq. ft to do :phew:

Won’t be in the garden today except for unpacking and potting plant order later in the day:)

Breezy and wet but grasses and tall perennials swaying attractively as I look through the window :)

@Upsydaisy You're a lean, mean, wallflower-potting machine, Upsy! :heehee: Seriously tho, I hope we get to enjoy the fruits of your labour in the form of photos when they're flowering. The effect sounds amazing and I bet the fragrance will be divine, too!

A thing with ladies and wallflowers here apparently, Logan has it too!

My plant parcel has been delivered today in my absence.....e mail confirmation incl picture of it on my front doorstep. However, it was arranged to be left in the conservatory....as always.

Front door is in an open porch but the parcel is somewhat exposed to the elements there
I am annoyed and already sent a complaint to the courier and to the sender
I have asked one of my neighbours to take the parcel in

Couriers have always been great here....friendly and efficient....so today’s delivery is a tad disappointing:sad:

@Nikolaos .....not sure why I grow Wallflowers either but I always do! The funny thing is I'm not that keen on them :dunno:. Think it's because of my need to see seeds germinating!!!:heehee:

:roflol: I don't know why I found that so funny but I did, nearly spat my tea all over the keyboard! Next Logan will be telling me she despises them despite growing them on an industrial scale! I haven't grown anything from seed since I grew a load of sweet peas in pots a few years ago and really miss having them now. Will have to try next year as I have loads of sweet pea seeds but I have had them for years and don't know if they're still viable.

Little in the way of gardening, watered the plants in the greenhouse (Shiney chili looking good), fed the chicken, emptied, washed and refilled the hot tub, that's about it as rain has abandoned play!

Got back to find my parcel was where it should be. The courier obviously returned to put it where it should be. Credit to him for that :)

The rain has eased. Plants unpacked and potted on.

Wallflowers? Couldn’t be without them. Don’t grow as many now, prob 60 to 80, and they are all in the veg patch growing on. They make individual specimen plants ....tall and bushy .....by mid autumn for winter impact. For sheer late winter and early spring colour they are unbeatable ....then there is the scent:)

Nick, you have reminded me to sow sweet peas again.....not bothered for past 2 years :)

Tomatoes to pick.....thick n fast now...as well as runner beans

I think....think...I interrupted a possible attempted break in earlier. The guy behaved suspiciously trying to access a locked side gate on my niece’s estate. I asked him what he was doing ...” wrong address mate “ he said and walked off. I would recognise him again for sure.

:heehee:@Nikolaos i love wallflowers, always grown them. Always had trouble with them when i planted them in their final position, for 2 years i sow them into toilet roll tubes, thin out to 1 in each. Then pot the whole thing on that way minimal root disturbance.it works all the time.

@Logan I can certainly understand the appeal, warm colours but not garish and there's nothing quite like their fragrance, is there? :) Just too much of a lazy sod here!

Gosh, we've got another one, what is this place, Wallflowermanialand? :roflol:

Yes, but what varieties and mixes of sweet peas to grow @Verdun? There are so many amazing ones out there! I particularly liked 'Cupani' as a variety and the 'Elegant Ladies' mix when I grew them.
