What Jobs Are We Doing In The Garden Today 2019

@ARMANDII you and your wading talk remind me of the movie, the shape of water.

All I've managed so far is to water everybody and rip out another male cannabis plant. I also took time to figure out what perrenials need to be moved/swap places. My shaded area is now sunny and vice versa so I have my work cut out for me as these plants are several years old. That's for first thing in the morning.

 

@ARMANDII what beautiful photo's. What variety is the gorgeous purple Clematis? Saw a lovely one called Prince Charles on gardeners world that Id like too as want a summer flowering one in those shades of purple/lilac.
As for what Ive done in the garden today...….its been one of those days when Ive been busy out there all day got sunburnt as well as filthy with soil sticking to me and am exhausted but I couldn't say definitively exactly what Ive done. Where do the hours go?

 

Walked with the Teenager to Wilko's, it's a lovely 1 hrs walk by open meadows and through a business park which is surprisingly full of planted and encouraged wild greenery.

Went mad at Wilko's "reduced to clear" garden supplies section, I now have enough fibre plant pots etc. to last a lifetime. Or until about April perhaps

Put in newly purchased bamboo sticks for the Gladioli and Dahlias, and realised that I need more bamboo sticks, or possibly less plants.

Disentangled Jasmine from the conifer and attached it to the wall. I will have to think about what kind of supporting system it will need when it grows a bit. For now it's just a few masonary nails and plant ties, horizontal wires would probably look much smarter.

Tomorrow is bank holiday hooray hooray

PhotoBucket are rip off merchants. I used to have all my photos on it. It used to be a free site. Then they wanted to charge me, something like $99 a year! The situation became that I could access my photos, but if I put a link to one on a message board, it just showed a blank screen.

So I deleted the lot.
I've been using this for a few years IMGBB. It's a free site. At the moment it's hosting just over 200 of my photos. The usual security measures, like those on PhotoBucket apply.

Have you still got your desk top @ARMANDII ? When my last computer died a 'man that does' took the hard drive out and rescued all my pics from there.

 

Hi Jack. Your garden is looking good.. You mentioned your edging shears.. May I please profer a tip or two?

So many folk get tangled up, using long handled edging shears. Usually the tools are to blame. This what I learned and throughout my working life I taught to others.

Usually you have a 'V' shaped gap at the lawn edge and the flower bed. So, depending whether you are left or right handed. Your prominant hand will be the operating one. The other hand will be the guide. So Stand close to the edge. The cutting blad will be the operating one. The othe blade needs to be kept close against the lawn ede. Only move, in a cuuting movement the upper blade, always cutting downwards.
When sharpening shears or blades of any kind. Keep the cutting edge squared, not

Similar thought. The removed/salvaged hard drive can be placed in a holder and used as an external backup.

 

It's funny you should say that Mike. All my pictures were stored on an external drive too but for some reason my 'computer man' couldn't retrieve them from that for the new computer, which is why he used the hard drive.
