Put up supports and then planted 10 cordon fruit trees. Pruned the roses and Buddlejas.

Beautiful day here, calm, warm and sunny :yay:. Had a bike ride this morning along the lanes where I live and onto the beach. Incoming tide was like glass, gentle ripples washing over the sand and just me and the birds :yahoo:. Gave the bike a wash afterwards to remove the sand and had a late breakfast on the patio. Spent most of the afternoon removing the remaining soil, gravel and pond liner from bog garden ( I dug out some yesterday ). Had to rescue lots of worms, literally every spade full contained them. Dug out large pile of weeds and grass next to bog garden. Had a drink and snacks on patio when I finished. Sparrows and Starlings chattering amongst themselves, Chaffinch and Bluetits singing loudly. I do believe my little birdies are thinking about making babies :). Very tired tonight.

Quite a chilly, damp day here.

Washed pots, potted on and divided some plants from last year, washed more pots, pricked out some seedlings that have their true leaves.... am short of windowsills as they are narrow and the wooden blinds get in the way. Rigged up a tray on a stool in front of patio doors.

So far I have seedlings in upstairs hall window, bathroom, kitchen, my bedroom and now the living room.

Going to try and find some cheap, temporary, easy to move around, shelving for in front of the patio doors as there are more seedlings to come.

Love my super seven propagator! things are germinating in days.

Those brown mushroom trays from supermarket are perfect for upstairs landing window where there is no blind. They hold 3 little pots each. Enough room for two more so told son he needs to eat more mushrooms

Built a raised bed out of decking planks form Wickes at the weekend, I am well pleased with my effort. 3 more to build.

Just potted on 29 double Hellebores that I grew from seed last year. Now to tackle those sprouting bulbs I found yesterday:blue thumb:

Are they from your own seed @Upsydaisy , if so they may not come true and may be singles of non-descipt wishy washy colours.

Keep an eye on them for 2 or 3 years Upsy until they flower:)
Yep, some can be inferior but others may be excellent....you won’t know for a while yet so patience is the key :)
I have a really nice bi coloured hellebore as a seedling....quite unlike any other I have. I have quite a few named colours and varieties here so I generally remove seedlings around them:)

Planted beautiful white camellia for my niece today. Should fill the spot very well. As most everywhere it seems, it is a stunning very warm day

Spent a bit of time pruning off the dead wood on our two acer palmatums. I remove some in October after the leaves have fallen, but more branches and ends of others turn white over the winter months. I ended up with a bucket full of bits. They shed some every year, so it's not a worry. Plenty of new buds already formed. I'll need to give them a spray once the begin to open. Blackfly love them as they do Sambucus, so I have to keep an eye on both.

I'll finish the repair to the tea-house "skirt" tomorrow. I resisted getting on with it today, to give the glue plenty of time to set.

I've continued to dig and weed beds and veggie patch. I can only work for a short time without taking a rest as I don't want to put stress on my back and my arthritic thumbs. :noidea:

I'm gradually working my way through this part of the veggie plot

But what will I use for my dinner?

The problem is gripping the weeds to pull them out and gripping the fork whilst lifting the dug soil. :noidea:

Otherwise I'm fit as a fiddle

Thanks @KFF and @Verdun , no they are not my seed, forgotten their names now.

I have grow them before from my own seeds however, took 3yrs to flower and they aren't bad .... I like surprises ! :)

Like all things in my life I don't need brand named things to be happy. My garden isn't filled with posh plants ....not so painful when things don't work out.:heehee:
But a few from good stock I like to have to experiment with. For me all plants are special but to get your own variations is the icing on the cake for me.:dbgrtmb:

More digging and have now got to this stage. The soil is very stony and makes the digging seem twice as hard. The deepest part is currently 12 inches deep, so need to excavate another 6 inches. Trying to muster some enthusiasm to do that tomorrow.

Planted my new climbing Rose and, after a very pleasant sit down for half an hour with the birdies, I made a start on clearing and cleaning the patio. As usual it's in a shocking state. I've shifted some pots and stuff off. Decided to add some well rotted manure to the raised bed before sweeping that part of the patio.

                                You’re winning Lucius.....you’ll get there:)

Cut lawns, again. Love the smell of cut grass. Fed cannas generously and applied mulches. They are in full growth mode now:)
Been asked to plan a neighbour’s new border.....in practise it means I will be doing the planting too :noidea: :)
