Very Nice DR! 32 years! Not sure if I've got that left but would be nice. It's half ready made and half DIY. I'm adding onto a ready made, will post pic when done.

      Thanks for that.

      I'm impressed!

It took me a day just to build the base. and the best part of two weeks of a holiday to finish it.

Did you leave a gap for painting between summerhouse and fence? How wide? My gap is probably just wide enough if I leave off the Stella.

@Doghouse Riley - your wisteria near the tea house is looking lovely. Did you train it yourself or buy it like that? I'm training one I grew from seed (five years old) but I think I'll be pushing up the daisies under before it flowers:smile:

      Good thinking!

Although the roof is 12' X 12' the actual building is only 9' X 9'. I tried to maximise the space in our small garden.

Yes, although the roof eaves are close to the fence, there's more than enough room to pull a panel up and out from between the concrete posts, when they need replacing and do any necessary painting. It's all soft wood and roofing ply, but many coats of Dulux mahogany Woodsheen has kept it rot-free. Rainwater falling off the roof misses the fence. There's paving along the length of this gap with a concrete lip along the left edge. The fall is towards the fence where it soaks away. The perspex window on top of the verandah rail is to prevent cats from using it to easily get out over the fence when they've come into the garden.

At the back it's a bit tighter. I concreted the gap eighteen months ago, as we had a mother fox and her litter of six cubs under there in 2017. (all reared successfully and have made their way in the world). There's now a timber and mesh screen along the gap between the ground and the floor, which was where she got in. The other three sides have 9" skirts which are 2" off the paving as the building sits on brick piers to prevent damp. I put guttering along the eaves at the back to stop rainwater running down the fence. You can see the pipe in my second photo of my first set, that carries the rainwater to the edge of the rear flower bed. This gap stays completely dry.

All the six wisterias in our garden were about six to eight feet tall when we bought them, then were "trained."

Not wishing to hijack this thread, a look at my "garden tour" video will give you an idea what you can do with them over time.

EA89DB71-B35B-44A5-9F86-2B1132A2D7F9.jpeg On what seems like the first rain free day since forever I cleared all the weeds/brambles out from behind garage from where the oil tank is.

Planted yellow loosestrife, centranthus ruber a geranium and some other odds and sods

Dog thought I had made her a new dig pit so I made a bamboo dog barrier.....

Still haven't got round to sorting out the bulbs yet.
But have added more plants and filled the gaps left by the battered fox gloves that have now gone to the big garden in the sky.

Blowing a right old hoolie out there....I look as battered as the plants!!!!

Been out for most of the day emptying the barrels and large pots of bulbs and old compost , sorted out all the bulbs and left them in the cold frame to dry out.

Finally took some plants out of the greenhouse I can move around in there now  I've planted most of the pots up with dahlias - cannas and one ensete maurii. Still thinking of planting partners for them , I am seem to of ran out of inspiration and have been sat around thinking about it far to long .

Pruned the grape vine for the umpteenth time and fed tomatoes - agapanthus and the rest of the dahlia in the GH.

Back inside now its raining again

Well, I do believe that photographic proof is required to support the above statement .........

Please ensure a few of these are put before any photographic images prefaced by a warning, for "people with a nervous disposition."

                    Here's an example.

In between light showers and a generally overcast day yesterday I fed all the patio pots and raised bed, two baths, two sinks and eight pots out front ...... I seem to recall wanting to reduce the number of pots I have but it doesn't seem to have happened :dunno::noidea:. I had planned to feed remaining pots, sinks and bath today but :rain::rain:, cold and windy most of the day.
