Lovely day today , 19°c . Mowed the back lawn and pruned the type 2 and 3 clematis and gave them a light feed . MrsH sat out on the lawn and got a little tan - and it is still February :dbgrtmb:

I've done that much today I don't know where to start
I know one thing for sure, I'll ache in the morning :heehee: Why are the tops of my feet aching now though? Is there even muscle in the top of your feet? :dunno:
        Checklist: Weed removal

Nettles :mute: , got rid of lots, fell in some at one point, :yikes: it still smarts! :frown:
Creeping buttercup, wow, they are persistent, hardy blighters. Got a few dozen out, drop in the ocean  Annual seeds are a blessed relief :)
Started digging a hole for my rhododendron and realised I've got convolvulus spaghetti :yikes:
At that point I decided sweeping and raking where an easier option :)
I did loads more but, ......it's late, I'll save it for tomorrow :)

@Loki you have been busy :). A patch of nettles would be good if you are able to leave some. Some butterflies like to lay their eggs on the nettles. You could make nettle soup too - I've not tasted it but I believe it's an acquired taste :heehee:.

Started jet washing the patio yesterday until pressure washer broke. The deepest part of the new pond is now 20" deep :phew:. Came across a rock at the bottom, which I am having trouble removing. It will not come out. Removed a fern from a pot and planted under the Willow tree. I bought a Weigela in b&m a couple of days ago for £1.99, so put it in a pot for time being until I decide where it's going to live. I'm thinking of front garden.

Spent rest of afternoon on a zero g chair enjoying the gorgeous weather and the garden. Topped it off with a sunset walk on the beach.

We always have a 20sq ft patch of stinging nettles for the butterflies to lay their eggs on. It's behind the compost heaps so not in the way :dbgrtmb:

Lucius, what better place right now than down the beach? :) It’s what I said yesterday to someone as we walked the dogs on soft golden sand, blue sea and miles of smiles:)

Today other stuff will be a priority but I will repair minor gaps in niece’s lawn. Rain tomorrow will settle it all in:)

Local nursery has contacted me to say the Coronilla Valentina citrina is on it’s way.....now! Where to place it??:):noidea:

I have plenty of nettles to go around @luciusmaximus :heehee:
I do deliberately leave some but these ones where in a flower border :spinning: Good luck getting that rock out.

The beach sounds lovely. I'm only 15/20 minutes car drive away but don't go much, I might have to start:)

Sorry folks I know its not very PC, but I started cleaning the Patio Slabs with Bleach. I had to do something as it was so slippery. I have tried Patio cleaner but It never appeared to work well.
My power washer is ok but it tends to start removing the mortar between the slabs. The Bleach water runs down a drain and not any of the garden.

                  Am I forgiven????

Actually bleach works well for me too John558 :)
It kills algae and moss on drive etc using a sprayer.....cheap and effective :)

                      I use "Wet and Forget."
More effective than my jetwash as it stays cleaner longer.

Grrr......emptying out some pots and letting the birds have the pesky vine weevils . Managed to save a few plants that still had roots, in fact I left them soaking overnight after giving them a thorough inspection and wash.
                        IMG_20190227_161720_hdr.jpg

I will leave the compost out for a few days before checking it and then putting in on the borders.

Doesn't it make a huge difference having tidy lawn edges @lolimac .....can't stand tatty ones. Thankfully hubs is very fussy over our lawns....he even brushes them!!:)

No gardening today, apart from removing that rock this morning. It fought hard. I won :yahoo:. Had to go out for most of day. Sat on the patio for half an hour when I got back listening to the birds and the sheep. Had a wander around the garden looking at the daffodils glowing in the light of the setting sun. Didn't make the beach today, but will go tomorrow.

@Loki I definitely think you should start going to the beach :). There is nothing like the sound of the sea. I always feel better after a walk on the beach. It's an excellent way to decompress :).
