Well got everybody else's garden done. :snork:
Just finished watering mine and a bit of weeding and dead heading.
Think it's coming on nicely now, but going to dig up and rearrange the bed that has the grasses in. Dont like it anymore :gaah: Got some plants being delivered on Tuesday. Going to plant crocosmia, irises, penstemon and some day Lily's.

wow what a lovely garden. Today I weeded and tidied at the bottom of the garden. OH pulled a load of overgrown ivy off the fence so now I can get to the border!

Thanks for the compliments all. :)

Lolimac...........are you suggesting something boozy! There'll be a white rose growing up that pole by the end of the year.

Joolz..........there are no purple/blue shrubs growing in the bed. But on the other side of the fence (my neighbours garden) just to the left of the pole is a Hebe. Further to the left is an Escallonia hedge. :)

Rain held off so burgers were made and bbq'ed (delicious if I do say so my self).
Didn't get too far with the weeding - I removed about 10ft of some unknown to me invasive plant that was totally surrounding the roses (who knew that the yellow rose bush was actually two separate bushes?!).
It's to the right of the buddleia in the (low quality) pic; it appears to spread by runners along the ground and has some fairly thick pink/coral coloured roots.
I'm fully epxecting that I haven't got it all out and that it probably will grow new plants from each microscopic bit of root left behind but at least I can now see the flower bed and so aim to deal with it before it sets out on world domination again =)

The problem with all the digging that I've done is that I've disturbed all the weed seeds. So today I had a day off from digging and spent it weeding instead!

That rather invasive plant is an over enthusiastic Hardy Geranium ,Justkia. It isn't as obstinate as many invasive plants and will give up if you keep removing any bits that return,
