      Hi @2nd_bassoon ,

It depends on what I can get away with.

Today I wanted to put some Lillies in a pot of Daffs that had gone over but it was only about 15" wide and deep so it wouldn't have been big enough so I dug those out and they're now dying off as above. The ones in larger tubs which I can just over plant stay in all the while.
I tend to leave them for about three years and then take them out and renew ( by this time they're ready to be split anyway.
The one thing if they're in containers of any sort ( like owt else ) is to remember to feed them regularly and also give them some fresh compost ( by scraping out the top couple of inches and replacing it with new ) a couple of times a year..

As for price if you can get a JW Parkers Catalogue in the Autumn they do some fantastic collections, so you don't have to buy each one separately.

@caroline is that a Dimorphotheca or an Osteospermum ? It seems early for a Dimorphotheca considering they're annuals My Osteospermums have been flowering outside on and off since Janiary but are now coming well into their stride.

A few more odds and ends.

The Sophora is just going over and the branches are struggling with the weight of the flowers

We stuck a few iris bulbs in with the Hostas. Hopefully they will flower before they get smothered by the giant leaves

Lawn looking ok for the time of year, the garden looking rather boring need more spring colour but I am always swayed with the vibrancy of summer / late summer and alliums
