WHAT'S LOOKING GOOD IN AUGUST 2018

My morning glories are starting to bloom and they are thriving, very happy about that and I didn't expect the flowers to be as big as they are!



They attract bee's and butterflies which is great but I also notice wasps seem to be attracted to the undeveloped flower buds of which there are many. Wondering if anyone knew why that is?

Apart from my glories, my pea plants took a turn for the worse and seemed to become infected, dried out and died, I had to pull many of them up leaving only a couple. =[ Still got some peas out of them before they went though, so I would call it a success for a first timer.

 

Logan your best off letting them thicken on their own first which I did and then the shaping started

Logan it doesn't take them long to thicken and they love the heat

The sun bleaches the colour out during the course of the day but in the morning it will have returned.

I notice the landscape greening up a bit now....a local golf course, niece's new build estate and more. Only a couple of days of rain but there was a lot of it and it seems to have done some good. Some rain off and on this week too apparently and cooler ....before a return to hot dry weather at the weekend .

 

I'm really pleased with the way my stacker pots have filled out.

NOT the weather! 36.4c at 4:30pm? I love the sun and ain't complaining but this summer seems hotter than 1976 which is a summer I'll never forget (won't go into detail but I was still a teenager at the time (just))
