Very pretty Amanda. Hellebores are an investment I need to make for my garden in the near future. :)

Of course nothing is growing outside here in Calgary but the Bow River looked awesome for January.

I have cousins in Edmonton and they feel like they're coming to the tropics here! It's only going down to -18 tonight.

I'm just happy that true winter finally got going. It can't end if it didn't start. :)

I think we stand a chance of being skinnier/ more fit because we use energy shivering!

Its their first winter so fingers are crossed.

We are on well drained soil which helps. We have other plants like yucca rostrata and cycas revoluta which are fine so hoping these do ok too.

First winter for a Jubea Chilensis palm too so hoping the winter is kind and they get their roots down.

All that said, the test will come with a winter like 2010

Edit : they are planted on top of soil mixed with gravel

The self-seeded snowdrops I moved from under an azalea in the front garden and put in this planter on the steps of the paatio. This is their second year in this location.

I only got it last autumn so it's the first time I've seen it flower. Very pleased with it.
