I believe that the hardy trailing petunias are called surfinias, and they are a more recent breed - isn`t that right @KFF ? These plants are more resistant to rain, and can be propagated very successfully. Some of these super strain plants flower very early, and it is well worth taking those cuttings. I usually keep my cuttings on a shady north facing window though, in case they get the wilt :ouch1:

Sadly even amongst vets it's only been in recent years that there's been a real push towards adequate pain relief in cats :frown: They can cope with pain, but it doesn't mean they don't feel it.

Our 17 year old upstairs neighbour was pet-and-plant sitting for us. She did an excellent job with the pets, but slightly more haphazard with the plants. My hostas and strawberrys obviously received a lot of attention; other areas less so

My little greenhouses get a lot of hours of sun and their temperatures were up over 104f. So I cut some blackout cutain liner and draped ot over them. One is now down to 93f which is almost ambient and the other only dropped 2 degrees. Guess I'd better go out there and figure out what's wrong.

Everbody has been watered with rain water :)

Also stared at the dirt where my king protea seeds are sown. Staring doesn't seem to expedite germination so far and I still have 2 months to wait to see if anybody emerges.and yes, @pete I am keeping the soil moist with smoky ashy water. Maybe I'll have to try cheerleading. Give me an S a P an R an O a U a T !!

              I love poppies:spinning:
The first year we moved in my father in law told me " get all them out, they're weeds" being a novice I obeyed :)
It was only after many years of removing them I must have missed some. They where beautiful, single and double and all shades of pink and purple :spinning:
Unfortunately I haven't had any to talk about for a few years. But... this year I've got them in my raised bed ( normally my salad bed ) Freshly turned soil, I suspect :noidea: anyway they are staying and I'll collect seed:snorky:

I love Poppies in the Borders, Loki, and, to me, they look better when they just appear randomly through out the garden.:coffee::snorky:

Definitely, that's what I mean  I used to have them pop up willy nilly but was informed they needed to be removed :rolleyespink: I miss the odd few I used to get.
This year, after a couple of years of neglect they seem to be reappearing :snorky:
I won't sow the seeds, I'll scatter them on a windy day :snorky:

That would depend on how old it was when you acquired it. Four years from seed and three from cuttings is about average. A majority of GC bought ones are usually in bud or flower and will normally flower the following season.
