    @Peter K is the first photo a passion flower? It's absolutely stunning. Does it produce edible fruit?

    @shiney we used to have two philadelphus at our old house. They sat either side of the garden gate and smelt heavenly.

    @Snorky85 beautiful poppies.

        Superb plants Shiney, as always.:)

        Talking about mock orange, Philadelphus Aureus is flowering here....scent is fantastic. Another, in the front garden...Belle Etoile.... is about to flower. A sheer joy when mowing past it.
        I notice "they" are breeding non scented philadelphus now; wonderful flowers but no scent???? :noidea:

                Yes it’s a Passiflora caerulea, the blue passionflower. I have read that it does produce fruit but that they are bland and woolly and not really worth eating. The passion fruit that’s eaten is Passiflora Edulis.

                Today the flower has completely closed up again, you would never have known the bud had even opened.

                          Wish you could post a scent as well on here. Can you ask more from a shrub than gorgeous flowers, heady perfume and rich Autumn colours? Only snag is that it's so hot and dry...yes in Scotland! that I doubt the flowers will last that long.
