Beautiful pictures of your garden @shiney. You must have noticed such a difference after your break.
I've just been for a wander with my camera.

What's the shrub/tree with white flowers in your first post @shiney, about 4-5 photos in? We've got one hanging over the wall from next door and I've been eyeing it to add to my list of attempts at taking cuttings.

@2nd_bassoon I'm not quite sure which one you mean :noidea:. Can you go to that plant, highlight it and when it comes up with the 'quote | reply' box just click on 'reply'. It will put it in a new post from you and then you can ask me in that post. I'll then know which one it is. :dbgrtmb:

It's a double white Philadelphus (mock orange) and I think it's called 'Virginal'. Can't remember if that is the variety as we've had it for 30 years or more.

As a flower arranger I grow shrubs for their foliage and this time of year they are looking good. The hostas are a particular favourite in the summer but the fatsia, pittosporum, holly and griselinia are a great standby in the winter months. The ferns are doing great with the wet weather we've been having so it does have it's compensations.

@alana Mrs Shiney uses all those and Eucalyptus. She also uses Hellebore leaves which go quite well.

These are a couple of arrangements that are now sitting in our porch (crammed in with other plants) for friends to come and pick up. She does her arrangements, for the three clubs she belongs to, and then has nowhere to put them so friends end up with them in their houses.

                            P1420836.JPG

Everything comes from the garden. The little nodding grasses always go well in the arrangements and the peonies are very highly scented. I can just see that she has used the flowers from the Hostas in the smaller arrangement.
