Lychnis coronaria is only just starting to come into bloom. It self seeds all over our garden and the bees love it. We have it in cerise and white with an occasional pink. The grey foliage looks good.

Love in a Mist (Nigella) is another self seeder with thousands of them all over the garden. Another one for the bees :blue thumb:. We have these in white and quite a few shades of blue

    Philadelphus 10ft tall
    P1480501.JPG

    P1480502.JPG

Phlomis Russeliana (herbaceous perennial) It's supposed to only grow to 1 metre in height. We have seven large patches of it and three of them are well over 4ft tall. Another prolific self seeder (only planted two of the patches) and is the most popular plant in June for bees.
    P1480499.JPG

This patch has, more or less, stuck to its 'proper' height
    P1480524.JPG

Phlomis fruticosa (evergreen) also ignores its 1 metre height restriction :heehee: and this is at least 5ft high. Does not self seed in our garden and this plant has been here for about 15 years. Not as well liked by bees as its cousin

This one is for @Beckie76 :heehee:

This is the bed where we removed a giant Euonymous that had got badly diseased (scale)
        P1480503.JPG

One of our large variety of Heucheras (Mrs Shiney won them in a competition at a famous garden for being the only person to name all 20 plants that were in a box - not Heucheras). This is flowering before the others
        P1480520.JPG

Campanula are starting to flower all over the garden (mainly self-seeded)

Even popping up in our Hosta pots
        P1480531.JPG

Neither of us remember putting this Verbascum chaixii in the green house (it's growing in the ground!). They self seed all over our veg patch which is about 200ft from the greenhouse

We didn't put the Verbena bonariensis in there either, nor the Briza maxima (quaking or nodding grass) and definitely not the Equisetum!!! :yikes:

Cytisus battandieri - smelling of pineapple and looking like it
        P1480543.JPG

We normally concentrate on having very large floriferous hanging baskets ready for when we open the garden but decided not to bother with them as we had to cancel the event. The other day Mrs Shiney found she had some flowers lying around doing nothing and has planted up four of these small ones
        P1480557.JPG

Runner beans have started to flower. This is one of the newest varieties on the market (Firestorm) that has been crossbred with a French bean (the trend now as it helps to produce softer, smoother skinned beans that are supposed to be quite prolific and this one was awarded a 'best buy' for flavour as well). I'll let you know how it compares in crop and flavour.

Callistemon Hot Pink. Out in the front garden it certainly attracts attention as most people have never seen a pink one.

These Hostas were 'three roots in a bag' from Wilkos many years ago and I have managed to keep them slug and snail free without using slug pellets (due to hedgehogs) and they have never looked this good.

I may have mentioned that last year I bought lily bulbs from Garden express in a special offer as it was VERY late in the growing season. Dirt cheap and they actually sent twice the number I ordered. This year, they've done really well, despite being stuffed densely into a large pot.

Hi @shiney, could I ask what is the droopy, pink flower in second photo, 1st batch, please? And the pretty white, dangly flowers in the last photo of same batch. It's not Styrax is it?

Hi @noisette47 it may not seem like it but the pink droopy one is a Campanula 'Pink Octopus'.

The white one is a Deutzia that has just started to flower. I don't know which variety it is (there are hundreds :rolleyespink:) as we have had it for some years, but it's one of the tall ones and is a good 12ft high now.
