First flowering of hibiscus coccineus - taken a few years from seed HibiscusCoccineus2Sm.jpg
Foliage very like cannabis, yet the other from the same packet that survived my lousy growing has very different foliage (and has not grown much at all)

They may do Pete ,they are hardy perennials sown and flowering this year a dwarf variety (Arizona Sun).

They hated the drought but I kept them going and now they are happy.......so am I .

These are slightly out of focus as it was quite dull out there before the sun reached the garden (and because I take lousy photos )

They didn't improve much as the sun started to get through, in patches. :heehee:

The sun just reached the roof

-10C it can just about tolerate. -15C is more debatable. If you don't get -15 much then chucking a fleece over it on nights that you may expect it to drop that low should do it. Some of the leaves are likely to get brown edges but it will recover quickly once it warms up.
