I thought I could smell it, but I couldn't remember where I'd hidden the pot. A very pungent male reproductive smell. :heehee:

I planted the Gaura lindheimeri 'The Bride' below last year. I finished my seed package bought in 2020 when I had around 6 Gaura plants in the garden, but took them out in 2022 as part of a change in taste. I noticed I missed the Gaura in the garden last year. I was lucky that one of the two plants developed fine and this is the first flower that opened.

                    20250619ourgarden_01.jpg

The white Astrantia in my old bed bought at Hilliers in June 2020.

                    20250619ourgarden_02.jpg

My moved Hardy Geranium from the old bed to the new 'Japanese' bed has settled in fine. I had grown it from seeds in 2022.

                    20250619ourgarden_03.jpg

I bought the Astrantia and Hardy Geranium opposite by the greenhouse last year at Waitrose in Faringdon. The Deutzia on the right side was also planted last year. It finished flowering and needs a few more years to establish properly.

                    20250619ourgarden_04.jpg

I planted the Perovskia 'Blue Spire' last year as part of the revamp of the bed on the right side, the greenhouse side. The two Salvia plants between Delphinium and Echinacea have survived marvellously much to my surprise.

                    20250619ourgarden_05.jpg

The first Echinacea flower on the left, the remains of the Linaria on the right side.

                    20250619ourgarden_06.jpg

What looks fine in the picture is just a good cover-up with my camera. Standing in front of the bed immediately reveals the damage done by this fox.

                    20250619ourgarden_07.jpg

The Foxgloves in my old bed are in the shade over the day.

                    20250619ourgarden_09.jpg

I had cut back the old flower stems of the Geum over the weekend seeing that most of them were finished. The first new stems are building and it will hopefully soon be full with flowers again.

Hello again everyone. Not dropped in for a while. Not picked up a camera for a while either!

There was a stall selling them at the local car boot sale a few weeks ago, along with marigolds and other bedding plants. I had no idea what they were which is largely why I bought a couple. When I got home I'd forgotten the name - I could only remember that it started with S, so I had to look through online seed catalogues to jog my memory!
