    My garden has brightened up now that we've had some rain and it's cooler.

      Thank you @Busy-Lizzie. The Persica roses suit my dry sandy soil. The one in the photo is Eye of the Tiger. It has flowered all summer and I’m impressed with the fresh green foliage and no black spot :dbgrtmb:.

          Love that Aconitum, @NigelJ. :blue thumb: I've tried a few different ones over the yrs, but they always get eaten here. :scratch: Yours looks untroubled by slugs.

            That one generally is, however I have recently lost most if not all of one in a slightly damper shadier spot. Either the slugs have a death wish or more likely they are not affected by the compounds in aconitums.
            I've completely failed to get more than one season out of Aconitum hemsleyanum a climbing species.

                I always like blue Salvias @Nigel.
                Not keen on most with wispy flowers of red or white, but blue always stands out.
