no native is pre humans, which is like 6000 years, then archeophyte is before 1500. though human ancestors have been in britain for ages before this but kept dying back. many plants like opium poppies were probably spread as a crop by our early ancestors before agriculture proper came about

Yes - slugs are a constant problem here @CarolineL , even when it's drier. The dry spring we had this year helped, as it allowed many plants to at least get going, but they still appeared as time went on and affected later plants. I'm not sure whether I'll persist with that kniphofia. It's on a final warning! Hope yours does well :blue thumb:
Many of my cyclamen are just seeded into the gravel @Goldenlily26 , especially the white ones, and they get a lot of sun, so maybe they do better in that sort of site? The clump in that 2nd pic is mainly white, but I could see that one on the right had a darker centre and reckoned it was going to be lilac or pinker - and it has turned out to be that. The ones in the shady sites are all pink. Mine were all supposed to be white [given to me by a friend] but most turned out to be pink! It's fine though, and I'm happy for them to just do their thing. I love seeing the seed heads too.

I thought I had lost my kniphofia last year, a lemon on and a lovely smokey apricot one but they have both flowered beautifully this year. They have just gone over with the change of weather. Theyt are both tall, labels lost long ago.

Unusual to have tall ones of those colours @Goldenlily26 - there seems to be a split now between the smaller, finer ones, and the robust "near species colour" ones. I might try to get "Maid of Orleans" again. She was a bigger white/lemon one.

Now that I have stopped the chickens from "sorting out" part of my garden, the cyclamen have come through thick and fast. Very pretty. I am tempted to buy some more kniphofia bulbs for next year. They seem to like my soil.
I have very nearly lost my big clumps of dieramas, too dry at the wrong time for them.
I have found some good plants of Verbena Bon. scattered around the garden, will move them next Spring if they survive the winter.
It looks as if my autumn flowering clematis has succumbed to my son's efforts to build a secure support for it. I think one or more of the posts were driven into it's roots. It looks very sick indeed. I think the only treatment is to cut it down hard in early Spring, and cross all of my fingers.

That's a pity about your clematis @Goldenlily26. I had a similar problem when I made a new support for a young clem, I had, but fortunately, it was small enough and I'd made a raised bed for it, and the support fitted round the edge. It'll need some adjustment, but I'll do that in spring when I cut the clem. back. I left the supports on it that it had in the pot it had been in, so that all needs removed too.
Re those white cyclamen - I found a clump in front of the dark pink ones I'd mentioned. The white ones are on the path, in front of the bed the pink ones are in. No sun in that spot at this time of year, so they obviously don't mind any sort of site. Maybe your wall is just a bit too dry and inhospitable for them though? The ones I have in the gravel possibly still get just enough sustenance, and certainly enough moisture.

Since posting last, I have spotted several cyclamen flowers amongst the weeds in another bed, still very dry and sunny. I must get on my hands and knees to see if there are any white ones, I can only see pink at the moment. I have a clump of coum in another bed but they flower at a different time. I must see if any leaves are showing.
I believe ants carry the seeds around. I have plenty of ants in the garden, which probably accounts for why I find stray cyclamen in odd spots.
