Some people don't like grasses. :noidea: We have a lot of them as they look good during Autumn and into winter, fill large spaces whilst not needing much attention and survive most weathers.

            Here are some of them.
We have a few of these dotted around

Cobaea pringlei going mad across verbena bonariensis and others. I was loathe to cut it back as it's a bit muddy some years.

@Bluejayway no, its the third (unidentified) linaria. Much smaller flowers than obedient plant and finer foliage. Also very floppy (especially in the heavy rain we're having). But flowers for ages and the bees love it

I do @shiney, good to see your range :blue thumb:. They are the easiest and most dependable plants in my garden - good on dry, sandy soil, drought tolerant, slug and pest free and low maintenance. Plus, they look good, particularly at this time of year with their luminosity in the low light.

It didn't flower at all in the spring when it was supposed to, but better late than never. Am not convinced it is Elata it was sold as, because the flowers have a mauvy hue instead of being electric blue, but I'll take it gratefully! :blue thumb:

My Cosmos and Michaelmas daisies survived last night's storm: The Cosmos grew wiry in the hot summer so stood up better I think. Rudbeckia looks ok too: asterAndCosmos.jpg CosmosMichaelmasDaisy.jpg
