    It's just the precautionary recommended advice....................not doing it doesn't mean bulbs will get it.:dunno:

      Update...I think we've managed to avoid the tulip fire spores :yay: Although they aren't quite blooming yet!!

          I regard myself as a well informed and knowledgeable person when it comes to the great outdoors(garden). I have to admit I've learned something today with this botrytis tulipae as I'd neve heard of it!!
          Maybe here on the Sussex chalk, we're immune from curly brown tulips, but I could give you a list as long as your arm of other nasties I've encountered in half a century of getting my fingers dirty
