:D Hailstorm earlier this evening! The nerves have kicked in!

They are mostly caused by my mother who rushed round after work with wine cases, banqueting roll, marinades and dips. She's keen to ensure I dont disgrace myself tomorrow should it rain. She has also ordered cup cakes.

Its terribly kind of her, well that's the spin Im putting on it! I refuse to regress to a plaintive and stroppy 14 year old asking why serving attractive fruit platters isnt enough! My mother is one of life's hurricanes and people organisers, its best not to get in her way.

A short film made by local film students is due to be projected onto my garden wall. If it rains this will be shown inside. While its a decent sized space, there isnt room for forty seated!! So we'll have at least two screenings.

    ---
    Shiney, best of luck!
Your plans are stellar! I guess you have it down to a slick routine by now!
I hope all goes well! Im distinctly non league while you're clearly Barcelona!

Its me birfday as well innit! :D

After most folk have gone, we'll be having a party. So we'll be outside till late.

The local festival is going really well. There have been supper clubs, history walks, recitals and chamber concerts. Plus events and lunches for toddlers and seniors. They had a fair in the piazza of a local development to kick it all off.
And yes, we have local Morris teams. This one is exclusively female!

Happy Birthday Melinda and I'll keep my fingers crossed for some decent weather for you.

I'm looking forward to Shiney's open day, but worried he's only getting two tea urns in - he may have underestimated the amount of tea us gardeners can get through :heehee:

Happy birthday Melinda :hapfeet:. I'm sure you'll sail through the day - the occasional drink will help. :yahoo:

The slick routine only works if the weather is right, all the helpers turn up, the urns work (otherwise, disaster, John :heehee:) and there are enough cakes :D. My job is to walk around as though nothing ever goes wrong and when any of the helpers have a problem or a question I answer immediately as though I know the correct answer :yess:. I managed to get through all my working life acting as though I knew what I was doing even when I was xxxxing bricks :loll: :loll:

I heard he's not putting leaning-shovels out though, so that he only needs two tea urns :heehee:

Happy Birfday Melinda :) Hope the open garden goes well, and you have a great party afterwards.
