Hi, can anyone help me? I am hoping to grow some cyclamen, pansies etc from seed for next winter. When would be the best time to start this? I know cyclamen are a bit tricky but would like to give it a go.

    Many thanks, Rocky

Primulas are spring bedding as they don't flower until March and July/ august is too late for sowing. I sow primulas such as primroses and polyanthus March/April. it is easy to keep them cool at that time. If the temperature goes up to about 70 degrees F the seed goes dormant.

Mid summer or so I would guess at for the Cyclamen?

Don't forget, if using dry seed, to soak it for about 24hrs before sowing, as it aids in germination - or so I am told!
