Thanks Zigs for this thread. To be honest. I at times find some of todays alerts etc to be frightening. Every day my email box is full to overflowing with information as depicted in the video. Each day more and more new pests and diseases are being discovered. Visible signs and symptoms may often mislead us. For instance a typical feature of Xylella Fastidiosa could easily confuse one with over or under watering. However so many of our trees are becoming victim to one or more newly discovered affliction. Simply from my own studies and observations. The U.S Dept of horticulture etc has always been very strict regarding imports and exports. GB has at times lagged far behind, in screening etc. The EU IMO has been very laid back. With the ease of transportation etc so much traverses the globe...unchecked. In an illustrative way. A consignment of plants, trees may contain a single infected plant. That individual can well be called, Pandora's box. For those gardeners who perhaps travel the world. Please DON'T smuggle that cutting home.
If you can speak Spanish or Italian, then there are several video reports on Youtube. Simply go to Youtube and type in. Xylella Fastidiosa
