    Good morning everyone,

    Well done Mrs Shiney:dancy::spinning:

Shiney...That looks a lovely room:wub2:..The last time we were on the way to the lakes we'd stopped off for a couple of nights in the Dales, went for a walk and I 'cockled' over on my ankle:doh:it was a choice of either carrying on to the hospital in Kendal or going back to Northallerton hospital,we were advised by the locals that if anything was broken they'd only send us back to Northallerton ...the mess my ankle was in we opted for Northallerton, nothing broken but ligament damage so came home with crutches as a souvenir

No rain here as yet today but very blustery:rolleyespink: the weather is set to settle down abit over the next few days:fingers crossed: so 'they' say:whistle:

Have a great day everyone and take care:SUNsmile:

      Morning all

Drizzly start to the day but it looks like it might clear up in a while :fingers crossed: Though the garden's a bit too soggy to do much. Maybe some deadheading of roses and dahlias and chopping down plants that are past their best.

Well done to Mrs Shiney again.

Hope you manage to have a relaxing day Moyra, and nurse that cold away.

Good thoughts sent to all those MIA, hope all is well with them.

      Have a wonderful day everyone.

      Afternoon all
Head in a book all morning, ignoring the rain.
Just looking out of the window and the sun has appeared back lighting the trees in front of the house. They all look that wonderful vibrant green and are dancing in the breeze - lovely.
We are still under attack from beech nuts (def. a mast year Zigs) so there is the constant sound of them falling, which is strangely enjoyable. Would collect them, but they are a lot of faff for little gain! Prefer the leaves in spring for Noyau.
Hope everyone is feeling better Shiney your neck and feet, Moyra your cold and hopefully FC is just reaping the rewards from his break!
Like the room in the lakes Shiney!
Good day to Woo, Lolimac, Eve, Zigs and HG hope you are all in fine fettle!
Back to the books, exam in 4 weeks ..... Then freedom:fingers crossed: :snork:

        Afternoon all :)

Second day of general loafing for me, and I am almost beginning to feel human again. Need to get of my behind tomorrow and start getting stuff done - got decorating to do, and loads of jobs in the garden.

Looks like it might be a better day here, too. Garden's looking a bit sorry for itself, lots of the taller plants took a right battering in the heavy rain over the past few days.

Hope everyone has a great day

                  Aloha everyone,

After two days of rain we have brilliant sunshine.

I don't mind the rain but when we have a lot our drains back up as the cess pool soakaway can't cope! When the saturation levels have dropped enough for the water to drain I sometimes have to rod the drains through. My shoulder/neck isn't up to that yet.

Lots of things to get done in the garden and the bonfire heap is 8ft high. Michael is in today and I'll be getting him to prune the plum trees, reduce the corylus contorta by 5ft and a similar amount off some of the lilac trees.

                  Have a great day

                  Aloha!

What wise advise Zigs. I sometimes wonder how your brain ticks, but ticks it does!

Ps. A sure way to ensure we have a mild and trouble free winter. :)

Finally got off my fat bum and went out and got a load of paint etc - majority of the house (if not all) is going to to get done over the next few days

Just finished sanding the woodwork and having a brew before cracking the paint brush out
