Yawn Yawn, Wakey WAKEY... 2014...

Aloha everyone,

FC, don't overdo things. You make sure you have a good rest and enjoy the excellent weather we're going to get from tomorrow.

I've got a long meeting today. It starts at 10 a.m. and will almost certainly run until 3 p.m. We'll have lunch but will work throughout it - so people are limited to two glasses of wine each . I'm the chairman (I'll have to do the treasurer's job as well as he's away) and will have to keep them in order . We only have three meetings per year but, fortunately, I've got a good team and we get through lots of business and everything runs very smoothly.

I have another meeting tonight but it's more social and will be held over dinner in a restaurant. Mrs Shiney will be with us, as well.

My neck and shoulder is still improving but my foot continues to be a problem. It almost clears up and then starts up again. It's feeling a bit better this morning

Grey and drizzly here this morning, and quite cool. Got the Sainsbury's shuffle this morning and then I will have another heave at the decorating - have a feeling that it's going to be slow going today though as Little C is is one of 'those' moods

We're destined for a very sunny day today

It'll also be a busy one and I've got lots to do - without too much walking around. I've got orders for at least 30lb of runners today so need to get picking. I sold 7lb yesterday and picked a load more but not sufficient for today. The Tuesday afternoon club is my best place for selling produce. I've already, this morning, picked and bagged 15lb of rhubarb and 10lb of plums. I'm running out of plastic bags for packaging the beans so shall have to have a visit to my friend Mr Sainsbury.

Mrs Shiney has an 85 year old lady coming round at 9 a.m. for a supply of plants for selling at her boot sale. We let her have them very cheaply as she is a bit hard up and she gives half of what she takes to another charity.

The meeting went well yesterday but it has left me with a lot of phone calls and negotiations to make! Who said that being retired is relaxing?
