      Good morning everyone,

What a marvelous day yesterday:SUNsmile:....the sun got really warm in the afternoon...fancy ...in a t'shirt on the first day of March:dancy:.....i thoroughly enjoyed being out there in the garden:wub2:...it's a bit different today....wet and dull but yesterday more than makes up for it:thumbsup:....
Had an impromtu visit from some friends last night ,it was good to catch up the only snag was they're not gardeners so i could see there eyes glazing over when i started talking plants:heehee:....

Looks like it will be a pottering in the GH day today there's plenty to be getting on with....:dbgrtmb:

Have a great day everyone and take care:SUNsmile:

      Aloha Woo and everyone,

It was frosty last night but then it rained. There's still "a chill in the air, but I don't care" as the sun is coming out.

Here comes one of my pieces of useless musical information :heehee:

I put quotes around those words because they're in a beautiful song, but I can't find it on youtube. It was called Summertime Love' and written by Frank Loesser for his musical Greenwillow. Harry Belafonte did a lovely version of the song but I can't find it anywhere - apart from my copy of it!

I don't know how complicated it is to post something on youtube, so you'll just have to take my word for it :heehee: There's a version of it on the net sung by Anthony Perkins who was in the original Broadway show but his voice isn't brilliant (but not bad). (Another piece of useless information:- Anthony wasn't at the filming of the shower scene in Psycho because he was in the musical on Broadway.)

      They lyrics start off:-

Many times I've been told by the wise and the old
Something good I'm supposed to remember
If my first love I've found in, in the warm of July
It'll cool in the nip of September

Now they point to the skies
      Do the old and wise
And they speak of a chill in the air
      But I don't care

Oh, still I love my summertime love
Still I love the kissing and the courting
Still I love my summertime love
With a heart still summertime true

      Have a great day

      Aloha!

The musical came out 53 years ago and wasn't a great hit although there were some lovely songs. So you're unlikely to have heard of it.

It's only people like me, who like the background of music and have elephantine memories, who will know it. :heehee:

        Good morning everyone,

        I hope everyone is well:dbgrtmb:

We've certainly had some heavy rain overnight there's lots of standing water which you might know Archi and Theo have found:doh:they do make it easy for me to dry them off though...i just cover the floor in their blankets and towels and then they roll themselves all over them....it's quite comical to watch...they've gone for a sleep now , think they've worn themselves out:doggieshmooze:....

Time for another quick cuppa and then off to work:coffee:....

        Waves to all...

Have a great day, take it easy and take care:SUNsmile:

        Aloha Loli and everyone,

Loli, do you roll around on the blanket as well?

Yesterday started off nice but deteriorated into howling wind and driving rain, but it's nice and warm and dry indoors. :)

I got some gardening done yesterday and hope to do some more today. I'm going to try and dig out a load of crocosmia if I can manage it. It's a b... to dig out but it has really gone rampant. We got plenty of things to put in its place.

        Have a great day

        Aloha!

            Aloha everyone,

Shiney, yes that wind and rain was bad again wasn't it.

Loli, trust the boys to find the mud and water! Just like Amber.

CRG. She is a big girl for 4 years old.

WOO hope all is well with you and yours.

Have a good day today the sun is shining and my sheets are drying. God bless.

            Aloha!:wub2:

What a beautiful little girl Orit is CRG

Loli, my two are the same. Water is a magnet for them. Easy enough to get the mud and wet off Tiffy, but Kai is a long haired GSD and a total nightmare to dry off.

Good luck with the digging Shiney.

Had a lovely weekend and the sun is shining again today so back out in the garden for me.

Hope everyone is well. Have a great day.

Woo, sorry to hear you had trouble with the internet but, at least, you didn't get into a flap :heehee:

I've dug out a load of red crocosmia and I thought I had better stop before my back told me off. It's so tough that I should really use a spade, to cut through it, and not a fork.

One of our neighbours has had some big Leylandii chopped down and they're now burning it :hate-shocked:. Ash is flying everywhere! The cars and patio are covered and it's settling on my solar panels. The sky is clouding over so I hope it pours with rain.
