        Good Morning everyone,

Lili, Good to see you. hope you and OH are keeping reasonably well considering. Take care.

I am feeling a little better. Hopefully the antibiotics will start to take effect, they have on my stomach. Have had to take extra Lansoprazole to counteract it. Have a good day today everyone, God Bless you all. :wub2:

          Aloha everyone,

I didn't get on here yesterday as there was so much to do.

Moyra, I hope you're feeling better this morning and that you acid calms down :wub2:

          Lili, welcome back :blue thumb:

Woo, I hope you're feeling better today. :)

Steve, keep up the good work, and we're here for you

Best wishes to all the rest of you :spinning:

The aerial turned up on Monday and moved the aerial OK. Whilst he was up there I got him to clean off all the pigeon poo from the solar panels (he had to scrub them with a brush as it wouldn't hose off). As he had the hose up on the roof I asked him to hose of all the Sahara that had settled on them. It only washed a bit off, even on a jet setting, and has still left a film of sand. So now we're running with a lower production of electricity!

I thought that whilst the hose was round in the front garden I would give our cars a quick wash because of all the sand. This didn't work out too well. I fixed a car washing brush to the hose and started on my car. Finished that and went on to Mrs Shiney's car. When I had finished her car I noticed that mine was still covered in sand!!! :hate-shocked:. After washing both cars three times, and having to use a lot of pressure whilst scrubbing, the cars were, sort of, clean.

Unfortunately, after having to grip the brush very hard to enable me to put on all that pressure I now have considerable trouble with the arthritis in my thumb . It's not a problem gripping things if I don't have to have my thumb and index finger close together. So using a spade or fork is OK, but I can't hold things like cutlery without it being very painful. I, also, can't grip weeds to pull them out . With a bit of luck it will ease up soon as it has only been two days :blue thumb: At least my thumb is keeping my mind off my back problems! :snork:

I've got loads done in the garden and things are looking good. I've cut two very large shrubs (just like cutting hedges), done a load of weeding in the front garden and weeded (grass, buttercups, dandelions etc.), dug and composted a large area around the veggie patch :dbgrtmb:.

Michael was here yesterday and I had to work alongside him to show him what were weeds and what were plants. He did a good job of deep digging the veg area and composting it and has now learned to recognise the difference between weed and plant seedlings. He worked hard all day and didn't want to stop for lunch - Mrs S made him sit down and have a cheese sandwich. He works hard and is willing to learn so we told him we would teach him, gradually, all about plants :blue thumb:. As he says he loves working in gardens I'm encouraging him to also go to horticultural college as he would be able to earn a lot more money.

Off out in the garden soon to carry on the weeding/digging.

Keep well and have a great day

          Aloha!

            Good morning everyone,

Lili...Nice to see you, don't envy you the ironing though:blue thumb:

            Moyra...Wishing you better soon:blue thumb:

I hope you're all OK down south with this Sand and pollution business,no sign of it up here, although it day say last night on the TV that last weekend in East Yorkshire the pollution risk was very high ...bit late telling us now but that's typical:rolleyespink:...

Shiney...sounds like you're really cracking on in the garden and Micheal is obviously enjoying it...who wouldn't in your garden:love30:.....i hope your car washing hasn't been a wasted effort and you're free from sand today:dbgrtmb:

I've noticed my Magnolia has 'peaked' and is now leafing up and dropping her flowers all over the place so she's done her job for this year, usually get a second flush but once the leaves are there they're not very noticeable...she's put on a lovely blousey show though:dbgrtmb:

            Waves to all,

Have a great day and take care everyone:SUNsmile:

There have been some lovely magnolia blooms this year and our neighbour's one is still going strong. Unfortunately magnolias are prone to frost damage and it's sad when that happens.

Our magnolia is a late flowering one and should still be in flower for open day. It sometimes continues into July.

Oh sorry to hear that Zigs, sounds as though he needs some A/Bs. Has he had glandula fever? Only I had that in my early twenties and then continuously had tonsilitus every three months for the next two years until I had my tonsils out when I was 24. Not sure how old your lad is.
