One thing about the drops, they do work, my OH says it would be about 25 years ago that I was diagnosed with glaucoma but my right eye was damaged so eventually I had the lens replacement op. The other eye seems fine and under control with the drops and I am sure that you will find that they will be just as successful for you.

Morning Wiseowl and everyone else. Looks as though today will be a good one. Trip into town planned for the OH and myself and then hopefully an hour or two pottering about.

Morning all, hope you are all well.

Late rising this morning, but made it into work on time. I have a good boss who lets me nip in here when we are quiet.

Its bright, but cool and windy here today.

Ella has the vets tonight, for a check up. It has been a week since her op, and she is back to her old self, and it does not seem to bother her, that she has only 3 legs now.

      Have a great day everyone.

        Morning all

Raining here so that's scuppered my plans for this morning. Just glad I got the dogs walked before it started. The veggie patch seems to be enjoying it though.

Hope it stays dry for your trip out Loli and for all of you to get some garden time.

Have a fun filled day everyone.

        Aloha everyone.

The gas man cometh. Let's hope he can fix the cooker as the parts are no longer available.

I hope he isn't like this!

        Have a great day

        Aloha!

          Good morning everyone,

Brrrrr,a chilly one this morning...hope everyone is keeping cozy:dbgrtmb:

Steve...You have had an early start, hope the roads were OK:blue thumb:

Shiney....Hope your cooker got fixed without any hitches:thumbsup:

I had a lovely day out at Burnby Hall yesterday,It was nice to just wander ,they're best known for their fabulous display of water lillies but of course it's too early yet however there were lots of Tulips on display which did look lovely but they've brought their Tulip festival forward by a week, should have made it two as many had 'gone over' and I expect more will have after last nights frost:doh:...they'd planted 14,000 bulbs so there's still plenty for people to enjoy:dbgrtmb:

Back to the grind today so time for a quick cuppa and unwrap all the plants that have been kept cozy overnight:thumbsup:

Have a great day everyone and take care:SUNsmile:

          Aloha everyone,

Gas man came and cooker fixed. He had quite a struggle getting things apart and freeing up all the parts that had seized up. The gas taps had jammed because the seals on the taps had dried out from the heat of the ovens. It was quite a complicated job getting the front panel off before he could get to the taps. Dozens of screws to be removed, carefully placed so he would know where they went back and lots of photos taken on his phone so he knew how to reconnect the wiring for the ignition and clock (apparently, the ovens won't work if the clock isn't working properly).

Then lots of physical work trying to get all the locked parts moving so that he could take them apart, lubricate them and, hopefully, get them going again. Then he had to check for leaks, check every part of the cooker (even the ones not involved), check the gas pressure and whether the pressure of the hobs were affected when the gas boiler fired up.

End result, everything worked OK, he said it is an excellent cooker in very good condition but, technically, (according to the book) he was supposed to shut off the gas to the cooker because of a fire hazard. We have a wooden pot stand on the worktop near the cooker and it was too close to the cooker. He's not supposed to ask us to move it away but is supposed to just cut off the gas and put a hazard sticker on it the cooker! :hate-shocked: 'Elf & Safety!

Frosty out there but the sun is shining

Fortunately he was a nice, and practical, man and asked me to move it away. He was here just over two and a half hours and charged for only two hours. :)

I'm still not able to do any proper work in the garden because I've been having the same trouble with my chest that ended me up in A & E the other month. I think it's just strained internals  :old:. It's three days now so I hope it will only be another couple of days. It has eased up a bit today.

          Have a great day

          Aloha!

Morning Gdnam, Lolimac, sounds as if you enjoyed Burnby Hall.
Quite an adventure with the cooker Shiney but take it steady in the garden.
Morning everyone, a frosty but sunny morning in WY. I have been out to remove fleece from my spuds and from the seedlings that I potted on yesterday, everything appears to have survived the night.
Looks as though it is going to be a lovely sunny day.

          Morning everyone,

Steve, hope all goes with your other half and the funeral of the aunt she is attending.

Shiney. That is brilliant news about your gas cooker and that was two plus hours of wonderful caring work. It is nice to know there are still engineers out there willing to do the customer service role.

LWW, I have yet to uncover my fuchsias and such I don't think it was that cold out there to harm the tomatoes in the plastic greenhouse which is without heat. Fingers crossed.

Loli never heard of Burnby Hall but sounds a nice day out.

Have a great day everyone, might cut the grass today if it is dry enough. God bless all,:wub2:

          Morning all.

Nice and sunny here but a chilly breeze so a good day for cutting the grass. We didn't get any frost here, thank goodness.

Great news re the cooker, Shiney. Thank goodness for sensible engineers.

Hoping the sun shines on everyone and you all have a brilliant weekend.
