    Good morning everyone,

WOO likewise here it is only the river that divides us! Not looking forward to walking Amber, but must be done once it is light enough. It's a very dark morning. Do take care of yourself my dear. Hope the rest of the family is fairly well.

Loli, It will take a time for the new chooks to settle in and once they sort out their heirachy they will be ok. Glad they settle down at night ok. Seems strange that they haven't had the lovely life your girls have. Think you have done them a favour by taking them on.

Zigs, worried about you down there you are so open to the elements. I hope using the car as a block to the wind a bit will help protect you in the van. Scarey! Stay safe!

Shiney, hope you are a bit better today. I think I am getting there slowly although Steve decided to take himself out last night because he was fed up with my coughing.

Eve, hope all is well there with Honey and your arm and shoulder. Take care.

Have a good day all, stay safe, warm and dry and above all get well and keep well. God bless.

Good morning Moyra my friend you look after yourself:grphg: I have just taken Penny out for her walk, something I said I would do regardless of the weather, she has been limping for a couple of days but I can't see anything wrong with her back leg,I think she done running up the stairs, she does put it down on the ground sometimes, and when she sees the postman it seems to disappear but as soon as she gets indoors she starts lifting it again, she's not in any pain so I will wait and see for a couple of days to see how it progress's

      Aloha everyone,

It's very quiet here after last night's storm - but that's only because trees are down and the road is blocked. :hate-shocked:. Commuters are having to go through the next village to get back to the station that's two miles down the road! We're not cut off as we can still go in one direction.

I've had a little relapse during the night and my chest is not too good but I think it will get better once I can bring things up. I'm still intending going to the Dinner Dance even if it's just for the meal. I've been the 'host' for the last forty years and don't intend breaking my record! :blue thumb: The only difference is that I'll let them all come to me instead of me wandering around greeting all of them. :)

I wish all of you lots better and all your two and four legged friends. :dbgrtmb: Similar good wishes to Zig's van :heehee:

      Keep well

      Aloha!

              Good morning everyone,

Hope everyone is OK this morning and survived those awful winds,it was pretty scary here at one point plus we lost power for nearly 4 hours to make matters worse:doh:the sound of wind was horrendous and I was keeping an eye on the massive dark shadow of a neighbouring Leylandii swaying around, one of these days that'll come down,it must be 80ft tall, big brute it is...

Shiney...Hope you managed OK at the Dinner Dance and you got home safely ,it was a bad night to be out last night with weather being like it was and not being on form.Hope you're nicely tucked up:thumbsup:

Woo...Hows Penny this morning?:doggieshmooze: Maybe she's sprained her little leg poor love. She's in good hands though and I'm sure she'll be right in a day or two:thumbsup: they are a worry aren't they:rolleyespink:..

My new chooks are steadily settling in  Mabel is still throwing her weight around but it's lovely to see them all toddle off to bed without a murmur :chicken: I've got to say I have a crack team though.Archi and Theo are a godsend .When the argy bargy breaks out I leave the chooks to get on with it for a short while but then intervene when it gets too vicious ,I don't like to see it.So I've been running around the garden like a lunatic:rolleyespink: but now the 'boys' have got it off to a tee ,when they hear the racket they go and break them up and peace resumes which saves me a job. They are good lads:doggieshmooze:

Last lap and then the weekend off:yes:...

Keep warm and cozy everyone and take care:SUNsmile:

                    Good morning all,

Shiney, do hope you managed the dinner ok last night and that you are now recovering a bit. These are terrible viruses and they just keep coming back. I don't think this peculiar weather is helping.

Loli, glad the girls are beginning to settle down and that Archie and Theo has their discipline sorted. Lol.

WOO do hope little Penny's leg is improving. Maybe a touch of arthritis or as Loli says maybe a sprain.

Zigs, hope you are still in the land of the living down there and that there is no further damage to your greenhouse. My plastic cover has gone on mine now. But it can wait until the spring. At least the Gazebo has held up after a fashion, something else that will need replacing in the Spring.

Eve, Hope Honey is coming along fine now.

Have a good day everyone, stay safe, dry and warm and above all either get well or stay well. God bless. :wub2:

                      Aloha everyone,

Woo, it's good news that Penny is a bit better. :blue thumb:

Loli, Leyllandii are pretty good at standing up to wind so you should be OK. 80ft is a bit high :hate-shocked:. I'm pleased the chooks seem to be settling down and Archie and Theo seem to be very good at helping. So, are they officially chicken dogs (like sheep dogs)? :heehee:

Moyra, Eve, and everyone else, I hope your feeling better :grphg:

The dinner dance went well and I had my first meal in two weeks (instead of just a bowl of soup or a piece of bread). I enjoyed myself but by the time I'd finished the meal I needed to go home. Lots of people came over to chat to me as it had been announced that I'd come from my sick bed to be there (I'm the host so normally greet everyone as they come in and make the welcome speech - not up to doing any of that!).

I was feeling quite rough by the time I got home but I'd had a good time. :dbgrtmb: Have had a bad night and feeling delicate but I'm already feeling a bit better. My main problem now seems to be that if I try to talk I go into a coughing fit. So Mrs Shiney will field all phone calls like the superb PA that she is. :heehee: I want to go to the bridge club tonight if I'm up to it - don't need to do any talking :)

We've had wind damage . Haven't checked down the garden but I'm having to get Michael in to sort out one of the fences where I'm going to need some new fence posts. We'll (he'll) replace the broken wooden posts with concrete posts. He's going to do it tomorrow as the fence is leaning into the neighbour's driveway.

Michael has been doing quite well learning to be a gardener and I've also got him a fairly steady job up the road. He'll have no problem with the fence as he's got all the right gear (post hole diggers etc.) because he was trained in fencing.

Zigs, have you been tying yourself down during the winds? I remember my old pal Odysseus needed to be tied to the mast :hate-shocked:

                      Be careful of ice tonight!

                      Have a great day

                      Aloha!

Glad you got to enjoy a bit of the evening Shiney. Hope you take it easy today.

Well done Archie and Theo on their chook management skills

                        Hope Zigs survived the storms

Honey is doing well Moyra - in fact so well it's hard to keep her from running and jumping and doing all the things she's not supposed to do. Doesn't help it's lovely and sunny today and she wants to be playing in the garden. Only another week to go till the stitches come out. I may be insane by then :heehee:

Hope Penny's leg continues to improve Woo.

                        Take care everyone

                          Morning early people :)

No sirens around here Shiney, apart from the police chasing the bikers up the A35

All calm here now. Had a look around, bit of broken fence and some random stuff strewn about the place.

No further damage to the greenhouse :phew:

Quick cuppa then out to fix the solar panels back.

Talking of which, any of you know the huge masts on Rampisham Downs going toward Dorchester?

They used to broadcast the BBC Woruld Service from there.

They're taking them down and replacing with a girt solar farm.

The wildlife trust aren't happy about it, maybe they'd prefer a nuclear power station instead
