    Aloha everyone,

@Trunky good luck with it. :blue thumb:

I'm still working my way through the photos and deleting the worst of them. We took nearly 1,400 of them (at the last count :snork:) so I'm whittling away at them. It's a tedious job. :phew: We went to two carnivals and just kept snapping away as the lighting and the amount of movement messed up the photos (couldn't possibly have been my bad photography :th scifD36:).

We also had a Carnival dinner buffet at our hotel. We were only on B&B and the price for the dinner was 45 Euros per person (which we wouldn't have paid) but the management gave us free tickets :hapydancsmil:. The buffet looked fantastic but looked better than it was - still good, though. I was told later that there were over 500 dinner guests :rolleyespink:. What was really good was that they had booked some of the carnival groups to come in and dance for us in all their finery. Absolutely superb :yay:. As one group finished another one came in and we guess that there were well over 500 of them altogether. The manager told me that there were about 1,000 but we don't think it was anywhere near that.

Just a few of the two photos we took of the dinner show. You can see in the last photo that the dancers were also all amongst the diners.

I'll be busy all morning getting quotes for our car insurance as it's due for renewal tomorrow. :rolleyespink:

Keep well and have a great day

    Aloha!

          Good evening everyone
@Trunky I'm glad that you found the place to be good!
@shiney lovely pics- at first I thought you'd taken a picture on an elaborate doll - how beautiful those costumes are :)

I've been out of town for the day with a client. Done work for them at their cottage (over 4,000 sq ft of cottage..) last year and they want more shutters for the basement so my client drove us the 2.5 hours there and again back - nice drive, nice lady but still an entire day spent.

I hope everyone had a safe day :)

              Aloha everyone,

Well, yesterday I had a wander down the garden to see what a mess the strong winds had made of it. No real damage but a lot of clearing up to be done. So we will be having Michael in tomorrow, weather permitting, to do it. There's too much bending work for me to do it.

:noidea: The black porous plastic on our veg plots needs to be picked up from where it's been blown and put back. It's normally held down with tent pegs and bricks but this is the first time in over ten years that the wind has taken it away. Michael shall be bringing more tent pegs and bricks. Lots of branches down all over the garden, the bonfire heap is now spread all over the bottom of the garden and the one ton bag, full of twigs and shrub cuttings, has moved 40ft :hate-shocked: The tied down blowaway has come apart but is not damaged.

Most of our jobs are normal ones :snork:

I've renewed our car insurances. They had quoted an increase of 25% on my car but I eventually got it for just a 5% increase and got Mrs Shiney's 10% lower than last year. :dbgrtmb:

It's a very busy week (non gardening) this week. :phew:

Keep well and have a great day

              Aloha!

                  Good day everyone
It is still pitch here and I believe the dark is expected to be replaced with grey skies however it will also be mild. We shall be up in the 40f area today. :)

I have lots of chores to get through today and will finish my cuppa and get on with it.

Have a safe day all :)

                      Good day :)
I see sunshine out my window :)

Other than doing a little laundry, I plan to spend as much time as possible outside - lots of bits and pieces to sort. We are having our last warm day until near the end of the month and I want to take advantage of every minute.

Have a safe day everyone :)

                        Aloha everyone,

I'm late because I've been out and about with meetings and going to have a cuppa before getting busy again.

My bank sent a letter saying that, in future, all statements will be online but we could have one paper statement quarterly. So I phoned them up for a gentle word in their shell like! :snork: I'm now going to get paper ones each month. :blue thumb: :heehee:

Keep well and have a great day

                          Good evening fellow WW'ers

I don't envy you the stress of house hunting @Trunky but it does sound as though you have found somewhere you feel you could call "home" so :fingers crossed:

I seem to be busy much of the time but not really seeing much of a result  Maybe I'm just busy doing the wrong kind of things :heehee:

Well done on your insurance @shiney  Had a bit of a success with my pet insurance last week, which pleased me! I didn't ask for anything other than the quote and the different plans available, but at one point I paused for thought ... quick as a flash to call operator said: "Can I put you on hold for a moment? I think I can offer you something ... Sorry for the wait but because of xyz my Manager says you can have a month FREE!" (that is so my favourite four letter "F" word :wub2: ) Erm ... ok! :noidea: Then, after a further 2 minute chat about life/work/animals etc., it turns out I was entitled to a further 20% discount  To be fair, the free month and the discount really wouldn't have made much difference in making up my mind, it is the cover which is so important and I wanted to get that right. Hopefully, now Echo and Ozzy will be as secure as they possibly can be with the health care plan I've chosen :phew:

Had a couple of pieces of "new to me" furniture delivered last week; both pieces were for my Office but meant I had to clear out the drawers in the pieces I was replacing ... can I find my seeds now??? :dunno:  I've stopped looking on the principle that they will turn up when I least expect it (just, hopefully, not in the Autumn!)

Can you believe I had quite forgotten that the ban has been lifted on letting my hens out? :doh:Tempus Fugit indeed! Not that today was pleasant weather (grey, drizzling, damp). I'm hoping for better weather tomorrow so they can be given a "Get out of Coop Free" card :heehee:

Smiles and vibes for all xxMxx :spinning:

                                Aloha everyone,

Well done @"M" :yay: I hope you explained it to Echo and Ozzy :snork:.

We never had insurance for Oscar but I don't think they would have insured him. We hadn't the faintest idea how old he was but I knew he was at least 10 years old and no history of medical condition. We only found out a little while ago that he would have been at least 14 when he adopted us as I found a 1993 photo of the garden with him in it and he was already an adult. Whenever he wasn't well he came straight to Mrs Shiney for treatment :cat-kittyandsmiley:. He took any homoeopathic pills she gave him without hesitation and would let her clean and dress any wounds without complaint. Here she had cleaned a wound with antiseptic and was soaking it in salt water. :)

This morning Tom is coming back to increase the capacity of our computer with another, larger, external drive and a USB3 board as, last week, it took him 25 hours to do a complete backup of all our data :rolleyespink:. Over 85,000 photos, 15,000 emails, thousands of Word docs and numerous PowerPoint presentations and Excel documents. He's been adding bits to it for well over 10 years and I think I should start calling it Marvin as it will eventually have a brain the size of a planet. :snorky:

It's a beautiful day today and after I've been for my annual dental check-up (new dentist at the practice so I'll have to get them trained to know what I don't like or won't allow :heehee:) it will be library and shopping and, if the grass has dried out, some mowing. :)

Keep well and have a great day

                                Aloha!
