    Goooooooood morning fellow WW'ers :spinning:

    Breaking news:
    (Thank you @moyra)
I've found them!!!! :hapfeet: :yahoo: :hapydancsmil: :phew: They were in the safe place that I put them when I moved the office around ... I'd just forgotten what I'd deemed a "safe" place :heehee: (Although clearly it was!) So, sowing day today and a bit of sewing ... suppose that makes it a bit of a so and so day then! :snorky:

It is glorious weather out there this morning (sorry @CanadianLori I hope that doesn't bring on a bout of Zone Envy :cmonhug: ) so I might have to force myself into the garden at some point and endure reading a chapter or three of the book club book. It's a crime thriller called "The Birdwatcher" by William Shaw. Not quite sure who in our group chose it, but it is set in Kent and I think that had a bit of influence in the choice :heehee: I was plodding along (no pun intended) with the first chapter or two, a page here and there basically, but, last night I had to pick up #1 son from work at silly o'clock so took the book with me to while away any waiting time. It has suddenly become *very* interesting :heehee: So ... I'm juggling tasks today so I can fit in a bit of everything.

@shiney - sorry to hear about your back, please do not over do it today! :nonofinger:

@Zigs - sorry to hear about your car but, on a positive note, at least you are in work and able to get it fixed :grphg: Do you need Echo to headbutt parts into place?

@woo - are you keeping a low profile so your head doesn't get stuck in any clouds?

Smiles and vibes for all xxMxx

      Good day everyone
The wind is howling and tossing sub sub zero temperatures around out there. Yes, @"M" I have zone envy and @shiney the igloo is almost complete and I shall make a slab of ice for you to chill your aching back muscles. :)

I shall be doing a lot of errands today. Might as well get these mundane tasks out of the way when the weather doesn't permit the fun stuff ;)

Have a safe day everyone :)

Gooood (very early) morning, fellow WW'ers :spinning:

Had to collect #1 son from work again tonight/this morning and I noticed that one moment it was a pleasant night, then the next moment - swoosh! - I hit fog; not too, too bad, but had to adjust driving conditions accordingly.
I had planned to read another chapter of my book while waiting for #1 son to finish his shift, but, a kindly chappy on duty suggested son leave half hour earlier than scheduled (an old fashioned type of guy, if you get my drift) so we could begin our journey home. Wow, what a difference it made! By now the fog was quite, quite, thick :th scifD36: I explained to son that there was to be no "boy racer" style driving to cross the finish line first and then the reasons behind that (stopping distances/visibility). Some of the journey was along the M20 and it gave me an opportunity to discuss the merits/demerits of "placement" when knowing there will be a joining from a slip road in terms of placement and forward thinking. Fortunately, he was very reception to the logic of that particular situation :phew:

I'm off to bed for a bit of shut eye shortly as I have a very busy day ahead when I wake up.

Stay safe, keep smiling and positive/healing vibes for all who are in need of them xxMxx

              Aloha everyone,

Thank you all for your good wishes re my back. Fortunately I'm not really having any problems as Mrs Shiney tends to stop me if she thinks I'm doing too much bending. Although I do have problems getting up, from bending over doing the weeding, I can manage it as long as I unbend incrementally. It's like having a ratchet in my back and I come back up a bit at a time. :dbgrtmb: Of course, it would be easier if I was able to crouch down but my knees don't allow it. A problem I have had for over 50 years :noidea: (damned assault courses! :th scifD36: ).

We've got on quite well with getting the front garden into shape (a lot more to go) and will then start on the back garden.

I haven't been able to do much mowing as the mower is screeching at me :hate-shocked:. I described the sound to the mower man and he thinks he can fix that in situ. So he's coming this morning :fingers crossed:. He says it sounds like the recoil needs lubricating - so let's hope my sound description is valid. :) The grass is getting quite long and I've only managed to cut the main back lawn so far.

Sarafi was showing off yesterday. He appeared to totally ignore me but walked right across the front of me with a rabbit in his mouth. He then disappeared into the bushes to eat it. I told him he's a 'good boy' but I didn't get any reaction as he always thinks he's a good boy. :snork:

Meetings and shopping today. Need more rat poison to put down rat holes. :rolleyespink:

Rhubarb almost ready for picking :blue thumb:

Keep well and have a great day

              Aloha!

                  Good day everyone
It appears we might be having a clear day. Still cold but it is nice when I know I'm going to see the sun.

And it will also be nice for the drive. I'll leave in about an hour to flip over the border to pick up some greenhouse parts and my freebie accessory. Also picking up my replacement food guide for my meat slicer and in anticipation of getting to use it again, I cooked a roast of beef last night. Looking forward to roast beast sandwiches :)

Have a safe day please :)

Good morning Mr Woo; how do you do?

I saw my first, live, badger on the drive back home tonight/this morning. My son asked: "How did you know it was a badger?" so I replied, "By its shape and size". He responded: "It could have been a fat fox!" :slaphead: :heehee:

I have now finished my Book Blub book  I've never completed one so early! Maybe because I actually *liked* this one ;) :heehee:

                        Confession Time:
It dawned on me that I hadn't resized Ozzy's harness for quite some time; all the while he has grown and grown. So, t'other week I thought "Time to alter the harness", so, I did. Well, I've noticed he's been giving me "Elvis Lips" when I've been getting him ready for his walks and today I took him to task and had a word in his ear about manners :waggy: :doggieshmooze: Off out we went, had a wonderful walk in the woods. He chased things I couldn't see; he chased the sound of the trains; he had a good sniff around ... but he wasn't keen on jumping over fallen trees and was being a bit stubborn at times. Something was not quite "right"! :dunno: Arrived home, undressed him from his walking gear (harness and halti) and then it dawned on me ... something was just not right with his harness. Stoopid "M" had indeed altered it ... but I'd made it tighter instead of looser!! Poor thing must have been so very uncomfortable (no wonder he was giving me Elvis lips!) :frown:  I've rectified my mistake and I'm optimistic that tomorrow he will feel a whole lot better

Smiles and vibes for all plus ...

                            Aloha everyone,

So you keep your men in harness!!! :hate-shocked: :snork:

That reminds me of when I used to take my uncle's dog for walks in the woods (oh my god! that was in the fifties  :old:) and he was reluctant to do many things. He was a very intelligent border collie full of life and love. His understanding of English was amazing and you could show him something, tell him what it was, and he never seemed to forget. So if you asked him to bring something he would do so without any problem. His one doggy failing was that he would not jump over things (very unusual for his breed) and refused to go through water. So, when out walking, he would run like mad around fields and through the woods but would not jump over fallen logs (although he would climb over them if he couldn't creep under) and had to be carried across streams. :doggieshmooze:

This morning we're off to look at flower pots in a house three villages away. The owners are moving and offering the pots (I think they are free). Mrs Shiney only mentioned it to me late last night but I think she's hoping to get some large clay/ceramic pots.

I've got the rat poison and shall administer it to the holes. The recoil hasn't been done, as he didn't turn up, and says he's coming this morning.

A fairly big job for me to do today is reassemble the propagator. Mrs Shiney has removed most of the pots from it and I see that almost all the cables are exposed on the surface instead of being buried in the sand and gravel. That we be the cause of the propagator not working properly and using much too much electricity. I shall need to excavate it very gently (daren't turn it off as it may not come back on - it's 41 years old), make channels in the sand and gravel and then bury it again. We think that Sarafi has dug it out in places so that he can sit on the hot cables :rolleyespink:. I shall also need to buy a bag of sand to add over the top of it. Mrs Shiney is a bit worried that it may make it just a bit too heavy as it weighs over a quarter of a ton already.

Keep well and have a great day

                            Aloha!
