Over the years I have become an expert finder as Mrs Shiney has a degree in losing things. We complement each other very well. :grphg:

I once had a cat who used to hide my false teeth. AND hand brushes. So if something goes missing now I blame the cats....

            Good day
It's another scorcher here today - high humidity and about 95f (35c?) is going to be our high but they always seem to underestimate the temperature in the summer. Yesterday the mercury hit 98f. With that in mind, before the kettle boiled for my morning cuppa, I moved a fern that was getting too much sun and was frying. Now I've got a big hole to fill so I better get to the garden center early and before I need to start cooking (outside) lunch. I'll use the wood oven, the barbecue and the sun oven so I don't heat up the kitchen and negate the air conditioner's lovely cool air.

I think I'll cheat too and grab a cake or something whilst out so that I don't need to bake anything for dessert.

I hope everyone has a good day. I am looking forward to the rest of mine

                Aloha everyone,

It was a blowy night and still quite breezy but Thursday's short sharp rain sessions have worked wonders on the garden. :blue thumb: Courgettes and beans have gone mad!

Re cats: there was an interesting programme on TV the other year where they put GPS cameras on the cats' collars in one neighbourhood. It showed how they avoided each other's territories, although passing through at their own times, and what they got up to. One of them had a habit of taking women's panties off the clothes lines and going into houses, through catflaps, and taking slippers. :rolleyespink: due to the camera the cat's human was able to return the panties :heehee:

                Keep safe

                Aloha!

:roflol:..I remember that program @shiney ...certainly was an eye opener to what they get up to!!!
                  Keeping to the theme....

A tad grey today but perfect for a garden tidy up and weeding session as for once the ground is lovely and workable...instead of being like a rockface. Rain did a power of good and all the plants are galloping away now.......sadly so are some weeds too!!

                  Have a great day.:spinning:

Good morning all, I too remember watching that programme it was both interesting and funny.
My hubby has made me a raised bed yesterday, I want to go to the garden centre and get compost to fill it and put new plants in, I’m excited as I’ve not been to the big garden centre for about 3 months, I will be taking my mask though :dbgrtmb:

                      Good day
Sounds like everyone has had a great kick off to the weekend. I've really just got a nice day of puttering ahead. I'll do some watering first so that the plants are ready to fight the heat we're expecting (94f) and I'll pay special attention to my new Hibiscus Red President. I had to move a fern as it was no longer getting any shade and was frying so I needed something to fill the big hole that move left and this plant looks lovely.

I have a friend coming by later with some maple syrup. It is the amber grade, not the dark cheap stuff they sell at the grocery. I haven't tried any yet but my sons say the bottles I gave them previously were delicious and so much better than any they've had before. I bought some of his favourite beer and have it chilling as this fellow likes a cool one.

My oldest son is probably about 1/2 way to pick up the granddaughter who lives up outside of Timmins. They started out at 2 a.m. It's a long drive and she can only visit for a week but he doesn't mind driving. Usually she would take the train down but that line has been totally stopped since March and won't be open again until maybe November. It would normally travel weekly from Toronto, up north Ontario and then across the west to British Columbia. Shame that is cancelled and that is because of Covid '19.

I hope everyone has a pleasant day. I think I'm going to!

we watched a programme about British Columbia the other night, it was about a couple who lived in the middle of the forest, they keep a look out for people who like to kill bears

hope you enjoy your syrup, sound delicious :dbgrtmb:

Good morning everyone.....the sun is shining, I won't mention the wind, I'm hoping that if I ignore it then it will go away.!!
Looking forward to having a whole uninterrupted day out in the garden...lots to tidy after having the ' unmentionable ' visitor's prolonged stay!

Keep safe, doubly important now with all the easing up going on.
