@Upsydaisy I have to go a little distance to get to a shop. There is a street in a town about 1/2 and hour from me that the entire block, both sides is nothing but fabric shops. There are discount stores that you can find all sorts of interesting fabrics but have to be very careful that they are not seconds - i.e. off grain etc. There is another place about 15 minutes from me in the other direction that has some really fab (pun) sales on a regular basis so I visit there every few months. If I went more often, I wouldn't have room for all my "finds" for personal use :) I only order exact yardage for business purposes or work with customer's own. I get to work with some fabrics that are over a hundred of your pound sterling per yard. Measure many times before cutting :hate-shocked:

Oh my...that's scary Lori!!!:yikes: I'd be scared to even touch such fabric, let alone take scissors to it!!!:thud:

Wow that sounds fantastic, a whole row of fabric shops....a dream come true!!

The last local ( ish) shop closed towards the end of last year, it sold wool too...loved it !!

The shop is still empty, I had hoped it would be reopened selling the same items, but sadly no.

Misty and murky this morning but I'm sure I can find something to do in the garden. :)

I'm late again. It is going to be a mild day, it is already up to 24f so we'll probably get up around freezing and with the sun beaming down, it will be very pleasant.

I've got a friend coming for lunch today and was getting things started for the meal before coming online. I brought in the casserole to let warm up to room temperature before going in the oven, have bread dough rising to make fresh buns and baguettes and the maple walnut ice cream is churned and in the freezer. Roomba is vacuuming the kitchen floor for me at this moment as I had spilled a little potting soil in there and I want things tidy when they get here.

I just joined one of our federal political parties because they are having a leadership race and I don't want one of the candidates to get near the lead - he is a misogynist sob! This way, I'll get my vote and my voice heard. So out of character for me.. :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Guess I best get a wriggle on, the table won't set itself and I've got potting up to do too.;)

Have a super day and play safe!:blue thumb:

Morning all, cloudy grey and damp here today. Walked the youngest woofer around our site this morning and been watching our two new resident squizzers looking for food in the garden. I just LOVE animals.

                    have a lovely day everyone.

                      Good morning all! :chicken:

very gray but no rain here, but the ground doesn’t seem to be drying out dew to the fog we keep getting.

Got the day off today , I’m going to surprise my mum as it’s her Birthday today :).

just washed the bedding and dried it so that’s that done.

hope you all have a lovely day and keep warm :dbgrtmb:

Yes @Snorky85 I love to see animals in their natural environments, especially when we witness them up to their cheeky and mischievous antics!!!! We have one squirrel ( well, it could be several I suppose:dunno:) that walks along the telephone cable just like a high wire artist in a circus everyday and always stops to have a look in our bedroom windows!! So cute!!

Happy Birthday to your Mum @Flumpy , hope she has a fab day, are you going out for a surprise lunch?

I've just sorted out our washed laundry and have managed to get away with smoothing out and folding a lot of it. Cheating I know but boy has it made the ironing pile smaller!!!:heehee:

                            Good day everyone
The clouds are doing a good job of obliterating the sunrise. A bit of red showing through but otherwise, as everyone, it's very grey.

Had a good time with my company yesterday. One fellow who is down here visiting his son (the one with cancer) came round as well for a whiskey and to borrow my reciprocating saw. I'd only maybe had 15 minutes use on it so the blades were still in great shape and he didn't need to go out and buy any. He's re-fitting a loo door for his son - changing to outward swinging as the other way is too awkward.

I've got a couple of episodes of Midsomer on the television this morning to listen to whilst I play with my trouser pattern. Then it's out to the shops. First day of this weeks offers and I need to stock up on several of the sale items before my granddaughter's visit.

Have a super day and play safe :)

                                Aloha everyone,

I've been shopping, had my annual eye test and have very minor cataracts but told I'm exceptionally good for an old fogey - my translation of their words :heehee:

I've hoovered and tidied the summerhouse whilst Mrs S. has a good sleep.

We have our bridge club annual dinner and dance tonight and it's the 47th year that I've run it. :old:. I've written my speech "Welcome to our annual dinner and dance and enjoy yourselves". Do you think I've made it too long? :lunapic 130165696578242 5:
