      Good day
I've got my regular Sunday morning happening. I'll read the newspaper (online) whilst drinking my first cuppa. Then I'll have a quick shower and stat the last load of laundry for the weekend. And do some tidying during the commercial breaks as my beloved Corrie episodes (6) air this morning. Looks like Jeff is finally going to get his come-uppance !

Sam is still snuggled up in bed which makes me happy. It means she's comfy and her body is able to heal. We're told it will be a long haul so patience is what we need most at the moment.

Have a lovely day all :coffee:

        Aloha everyone,

I had a busy day yesterday. I carried on tidying and clearing the pots and trays but still a lot to go. I have, so far, collected enough reasonably duff ones to fill a second black bin for non-recyclables. Probably at least a third one to go as well. Even then we shall have too many.

I tidied and cleaned a large part of the paved storage area and by the time I've finished with the rest it will leave about 150sq ft of totally dead grass. :cry3: Another problem to sort out!

Three big family Zooms took up all the afternoon/evening.

        Keep well

        Aloha!

Just to let you know Upsydaisy has lost all power and telephone/internet service and is shivering without heat and no gas. She communicated this to me via mental telepathy. :rolleyespink:

Morning all :spinning: hope all is well your way, weather is dry here at the moment and no white stuff floating around , got my first Covid19 injection and feeling a little nervous already, it’s my last day off today so going to try and take my mind off it for a while and read my book A year at the Chateau.

Shiney try and take it easy don’t want you making yourself worse :noidea:.

@Victoria thanks for the info re Upsy. :blue thumb: I'm a bit puzzled about it. I understand that if power is lost you lose internet but not usually telphone, if you have an old fashioned phone to plug into the system. That doesn't go down with power loss.

Also, gas rarely goes with a loss of electricity but a gas boiler won't work because there is no electricity to drive a pump.

Obviously she would still, possibly, have mobile service (unless, like me, she has no mobile). With either basic mobile or phone service she wouldn't be able to post on GC.

So give her our best wishes for a quick return to 'normal' life. :grphg:

We get powercuts quite often (seventeen this year) but at least we have the gas cooker in the kitchen which we can use to warm it up. If the gas boiler goes :fingers crossed: and not the electric we have underfloor electric heating in the summerhouse. So we're quite fortunate.

The power suppliers run an emergency system for 'Seniors' where they can supply temporary power generators and even supply hot meals.

                    Mornin' shiney

I do not know if Upsy has a plug-in phone ... as mentioned, she communicated to me via mental telepathy. I do not know if she is connected to gas but perhaps wrongly I assumed she is not or maybe has a gas boiler. All I know is she cannot communicate in the usual way! And is freezing to boot being without heat. A tree fell down on her lane.

                        Good day
@Upsydaisy I hope you're able to read this message soon and that your power has been restored!

I can hear Sam moving about in her room so I know she is awake, just not ready to socialize. We go for her bandage/wound care today and the nurse will assess the outward appearance of how things are going. I am very happy that she was tested for Covid whilst at emergency the other day. Having that negative result was a nice bonus for our household as not only does she not have it, it is very unlikely anyone else in our bubble could possibly have it :dbgrtmb:

I've pick out a fabric from my stash to make a new top today and get some practice in on the coverstitch and will be labelling some tops that I changed my mind about. I want to donate them as they were only worn once but I need to add a tag with the size else they would be tossed and not passed on. They are nice tops and good fabrics but I just liked some of my newer patterns more and I've decided to keep a set number of hangers in my closet!

Have a lovely day all and looking forward to hearing from @Upsydaisy later. In more traditional lines of communication!

:yikes: That would be a cold day in hell if I could do that! Some years ago I watched a Gok Wan series where he advocated you could have just I think it was 25 pieces of clothes (which included bags and shoes) in your wardrobe and mix and match them. :hate-shocked: No way!!! I have more than that in footwear alone!
