It is wonderful and as a bonus you have that stunning view. Your plants look very pretty there. What direction does it face? Why are you having the conservatory removed?

That's the opposite to what I understand @Flumpy, and I don't believe half of what the government tells us. Unfortunately they've only got their own interests at heart .
I'm sorry about your friend's brother in law though ...

I remember days like that too @Upsydaisy. My mother's birthday was on Boxing Day and it was like another Christmas Day over again, because we'd visit my grandparents (mum's side) and that was when we'd exchange gifts with them.

      Enjoy your seed sorting x

The window faces north and the door faces west. Being on a hill I can see over the tops of the gardens lower down the street, and so have the view. In the summer the sun shines into my garden all afternoon and until after 9 p.m. (when it isn't raining :heehee:)

You can see the conservatory in the photo. It is impossible to keep clean, the roof is full of moss and the side windows are too high up for me to reach - being on a hill the side entrance path is much lower down than the windows. It is also damp and has subsided because whoever built it didn't put any foundations under it, they just built it straight on to the ground.

After the conservatory is pulled down I'm going to have the (small pokey) kitchen extended out to that space. It will have a nice big west facing window, and I have a kitchen table and an old farm-house arm chair in the attic, that I can put in there.

Yes @Victoria because the conservatory is never used. It is full of overwintering cacti :heehee:

OK @Upsydaisy I will put pics.
The chair is very old, it belonged to my grampa's great grandfather (whose name was actually Michael Hewett and that's why I chose it as my forum name) . However one of the legs has fallen off so I will have to get it mended.

Actually @Victoria my grampa had rockers put on it but had to shorten the legs. However it just looked stupid with rockers so when I got it after he died I took them off and now it is very low. I may have new legs for it so that it comes back to its original height.

                    Aloha everyone,

I did my early morning shopping very quickly and got back from town just after 6.30. It's very mild out there so I hope to get some gardening done.

I've not been on the computer much because of the arthritis in my thumbs being a nuisance and am trying to give my eyes a bit of a break from screen time. I'm hoping to find a bit of time to do a couple of quizzes but need to get my brain into gear for it.

                    Keep well

                    Aloha!

                      Good morning everyone!

A big tidy up day today after our eldest returns to London, not that he's untidy it's just that I haven't done any housework as such since he came down a week ago.
I'll probably take the decorations down too as they begin to annoy me after Christmas..

                      Have a safe day.:spinning:

Morning @Flumpy....when are you back at work?

I am limiting screen time too as I find it a strain ,particularly under electric lights..

I suffer with a vitreous detachment, ocular migraine and floaters in the eyes. They're not that much of a problem but it's not good to be at the computer screen for too long. I use a 27" screen so that it's not too much of a strain and watching TV is OK because I sit 20ft from it. Reading a book is no strain but impossible when I have the ocular migraine. Fortunately that only lasts for 20 minutes at a time.

                              Good day
@Upsydaisy I took down my decorations on Tuesday. I don't see any point in leaving them up until they are covered in dust.

It is still pitch here and the guessers have told us that we can't expect any sunshine for a week  But it is not bitterly cold. Just below freezing :blue thumb:

I hope everyone has a good day and yes, less screen time is a good idea :)

Re less screen time, I usually look at it in the evenings now or late afternoons at the earliest, it tends to irritate me ...
