I actually saw the New Year in watching the London fireworks. I wouldn't want to live nearby there ... and what a waste of money! There were about 10 minutes of fireworks across the road at the top of our lane. Van was okay lying on J, but poor Munchkin went a bit scatty but calmed down lying on me.

It is a grey start here as a little rain is forecast but much needed. It is 14c going to 21c though.

Definitely a quiet day in. Enjoy a peaceful day everyone.

 

The fire works where going for a good hour here hubby slept through it, I don’t know how .

well we are off to my parents lunch time for a chat and a good cup of tea, roll on spring now because I’m itching to do things in the garden.

I too was fast asleep then woke up to fireworks outside our house

 

Sorry you were woken @Flumpy. I was already awake, I don't sleep very well. The fireworks were in the distance so I wouldn't have heard them if I was sleeping.

 

Ho these where so close coming from the next street but the bangs actually went off over our houses, hopefully all done now

It is 39f 3c and mostly cloudy. I hope the sun peeps through this afternoon as my battery bank is on life support.

Happy New Year to you all. I too wish spring would be soon however I will have to wait a few (3) months before any hint of that. Traditionally when the winter starts off mild like this one has, we get hit with full on cold and snow for the rest of it.

I best get going. I've got dough rising for 4 dozen buns, have a pineapple glazed ham to do and get the spuds peeled and sliced for the scalloped potatoes.

@Flumpy I've got lots of leftovers so come by anytime. I drove Sam back downtown Toronto after so I only toasted with non alcohol red wine, but may just have a glass in the very near future.

Good morning everyone.!

Well that's all done and dusted with now, collected up all the cards , we had no decorations this year to take down .

Back to normal duties..

The laundry is out ...I went round collecting up whatever I came across, I sure even clean items found their way into the washing machine. We have rain forecast for every day ( except the 13th) for the next 2 weeks. I really hope they are working to their normal standards....and have it all wrong!!

Think I'll aim for a day in the garden, but no guarantees.

Morning all. We had several very welcome bursts of rain yesterday evening and this morning the sun is already breaking cloud up and it is 10c only going to 16c.

We are leaving about 9,30-ish this morning for my appointment wit Border Control in Loule for my Biocard. Although this is only for Brits who are permanently here, J will have all his papers with him and ask if he can get his Biocard too as his Permanent Residency ends next month (as mine does). We should be back around noon assuming all goes well this time.

Van and Munch popped out for a few minutes at 8am but came back in for brekkies so J shut the door and they can stay in till we come home.
